Hard to say, received pack last month (February, it was on back order) and have not been deer hunting since. Appears good, time will tell.

Not worth it unless you want it purely for visibility purposes. I ride my bike in the city a lot so I got it to be seen by motorists. I also hunt sparingly so I thought it could double as a pack. Wrong. It collects dirt, burrs, and leaves like it's super glue. The water proof feature isn't great--it doesn't bead the water at all. The water soaks into the fabric and cools off the inner lining of the pack. Takes HOURS TO DRY. So, I GUESS the water doesn't seep through the inner layer, but it might when soaked. You can really feel the cold water if you put your hand on the inside of it while wet. I wouldn't trust this in a rain shower with anything that can't get wet. Third, it has too many straps and latches. The latching centers are plastic and extremely hard to fit anything (straps) into. They're also poorly positioned. Fourth, the bottom two black hanging straps are non-removable and get in the way of branches and sticks (get caught) if moving through dense woods or fields. Fifth, the closure system is a cheap nylon cord/plastic pull system. The kind you see on laundry bags. It will fray in time and render it useless as it will take a while to open and close it. Sixth, the buckles are thick, hard to open, cheap plastic.
On the plus side the straps are nicely padded and the pack straps nicely to your torso. The side pouches are removable and have zippers.
Overall--not worth it. Spend the extra money and get a better pack. The two biggest issues for me was the lack of a real waterproofing feature, and the weak/difficult/cheap closure system.

The only problem I found with this product was when it came time to shoulder my rifle to shoot, the buckle hit the butt plate of the rifle causing a loud noise which would alert the deer/bear/moose, etc
Overall I like the quality of workmanship and material used.

Great pack for a hunt. Material is soft and quiet, opens and closes very quietly also. Can't go wrong with safety orange while in the woods.

I picked this up for the deer gun season here in Wisconsin where blaze orange is required. Excellent pack. Roomy enough I can get a wool jacket, wool vest and coffee thermas in the main compartment and gloves, hats, etc in the side zip pockets. chest strap is nice in keeping pack rigid. Wish I had found this sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by saddleguy Good blaze pack
Was looking for a blaze orange day pack to use while hunting since that color vest is required for rifle hunting in Colorado. Makes sense to me to use an orange pack to avoid covering the back of my orange vest with a camo pack. Comes down to a safety issue. Finding a decent blaze pack was more difficult than I expected and this one fills the bill. It has a soft fleece feel but has a water resistant layer to keep stuff dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HunterTRM Very nice back pack
Has plenty of room for a day hunt and I really like the side pockets that you can take off and put back on. The first time a used the pack it was raining very hard and everything inside stayed nice and dry.

This backpack is by far the best blaze orange bag that I have found anywhere around. The soft material is perfect for staying quite while stalking deer and elk through the thick timber and underbrush of Western Oregon and the waterproofing makes sure all of my gear stayed dry.
The two detachable side pockets and the top zippered pockets are great for storing a water bottle/snacks/small gear that you don't want to dig for in the main compartment.
Overall a great blaze orange pack.

RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS PACK FOR AN UPCOMING COLORADO ELK HUNT. INITIALLY WITH THE BLAZE ORANGE REQUIREMENTS THERE IT WAS NOT EASY FINDING A PACK IN THAT COLOR AS VIRTUALLY ALL HUNTING PACKS COME IN CAMO COLORS ONLY. THANKFULLY LL BEAN WAS THE ONE SOURCE THAT HAD THE BLAZE ORANGE COLOR.
THE PACK ITSELF IS VERY WELL BUILT AS IS EXPECTED WITH A LL BEAN PRODUCT. MORE THAN ROOMY ENOUGH AND VERY COMFORTABLE. THE ONLY REASON THAT I DID NOT GIVE IT 5 STARS IS I WOULD PREFER A ZIPPER OPENING AS OPPOSED TO A DRAW STRING.
