I just finished the third year with these blinds. They are fantastic. Be sure to set it up in your yard before using, it'll be easier in the field. It will only take minutes. The lightness, compactness and portability is excellent. I've attached grass mats around them, attaching to the loops. The blind seems to have no problem holding up with the extra weight. There's not a lot of movement of the fabric when the wind blows. The stakes are needed if the winds are real strong. If the tides are high enough that we will be standing in water we don't use the stakes, allowing us to move the blind back as the tide comes in. I've left the blinds set up overnight with the stakes, if we plan to hunt the same area another day. They stay put even in the tidal action. Overall, the best pre-made blind I've ever perchased.

This seems like the usual Bean quality product. Easy to set up, though an instruction sheet would have made the first 10 minutes out of the box less frustrating. I agree that the frame would benefit from more of a mat finish and the dog door should be in the front. Maybe those will be corrected on the next version.
Won't be able to use the blind for several months, so have no idea about how fabric and seams will hold up, but I already know where the first hunt in it will be.

The elastic cord connected pole sections are helpful in keeping the required sections together, however when following the instructions to connect all sections before using, they are awkward when setting up blind in area with lots of vegetation, reeds, trees, etc. Definitely need to allow some additional time in morning to set up or if possible set up and brush out day before.
Blind functions well in blocking wind and rain. Brush out loops are generous. Quick release of blind top not too quick. A little concerned that the fabric may be a little reflective. Will try mudding as is recommended for layout blinds to see if that will help.
Over all a comfortable and functional portable blind.

Do yourself a favor...call LLBean and get all 3 poles (front, top and hub assembly). My front pole broke last year (fyi MY FAULT!! )...thought I would have to quit using the blind...called Bean...talked to a VERY informed gent. They have a pole kit that has all 3 in it but was not in stock when I called, however they did have all 3 poles seperate...I thought HOLY COW THIS IS GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE!!!.......$10 each!!!!!...for $30 you can have backup poles in hand...got them in 2 days..work like a champ...as I said, if you have one of these blinds get extra poles...for $30 you cant go wrong....by the way I love this thing!!!

First I got the box from LL Bean and the price tag on the box was $329 but they charged me $379. Someone failed to remove the price tag but it didnt make me feel any better as a loyal customer. Second, I too repainted the poles to take the shine off them.Third, the blind did not withstand the high winds of North Dakota. Snatching the blind from our hands before we could get it into place, the winds took the blind across the farm field with us chasing behind. A sure winner for America's funniest videos if anyone had us on video. With two of the poles broken, we were forced to rethink our hunting tactic for the rest of the hunt.

My husband and I have not officially used the blind yet, but we did set it up to see how it went up. It seems to be a great hideout for three people and a dog. The bottom is cutout so we'll have to bring a tarp on the marsh, but better then getting the blind gross. May have an issue in wind, but will have to wait and see. So many cool pockets and one rope to pull back top. Dog door works well for our lab.

This is an excellent product, especially for anyone who hunts small ponds with brushy/grassy shorelines. Two notes:
1) Set-up is easy and straightforward, but PRACTICE on your lawn before you try it at 4 AM on the marsh. Learn what the various pieces feel like in the dark, so you don't fumble.
2) The other reviews about dulling down the shine with spray paint are spot-on - both the hardware and the fabric are too shiny out of the box, especially the mesh windows. If you hunt salt marshes, use tan, as the Mossy Oak pattern is a little dark. Use grassing loops too!

Set this blind up,in my yard,as soon as I got it,as it was about to rain, and I wanted the blind to get some "weather" before hunting it. Boy did it get some exposure to the weather. This blind withstood 30to40MPH winds, and driving rain for over five hours, with NO problems! EASY set up,even for one person. A great hunting accessory!

This blind can be successfully used in many hunting situations. Tested it in open fields for geese and does not scare the birds. If some type of 3-D camo (I use camoflex) is used the birds are not spooked. You can even set this blind up on a small duck boat I use in the marsh. Shoreline hunting also is successful. I recommend a light spray of krylon camo paint to cut down any chance of glare. I also use my dog blind set up beside the dog door so he can deliver birds and then return into his blind. Being a 51yr waterfowl hunting vetern, this blind allows me to continue hunting fields since I have a bad back and knees that do not allow me to use a layout blind. I can also see if you hunt deer or turkey, this blind would work great. An all around good investment.

This is the best quality portable blind I've found for duck hunting. Like most equipment, we'll have to see how it stands up over time. Setup is easy even in the dark. The poles seem to be high quality and hold the fabric very taut.
