Rated 4 out of 5áby Jport Overall Good Jacket, Could Use Some Improvements.
I purchased this jacket last weekend and just returned from the opening day of Maine deer season. I wore the basic shell in my stand with the primaloft hunter's jacket as a liner. Temps were in the 40s, I stayed warm and the fabric is really quiet. Had a passing shower and the jacket kept them damp out.
I really like this jacket but one area that I think can be improved on is adding a couple more pockets. The only two pockets are the front bottom pockets, which are big enough to hold gear like hats, gloves, calls, etc. But I think this jacket could really benefit from a chest pocket.

This coat kept me dry during this years rainy archery season. It fits well and is quiet. When the temp got cold, a couple of base layers kept me warm. I wish it had a few more pockets. Please note that if you get too warm, moisture does collect on the inside of the coat.

Rated 1 out of 5áby rgar1 Not adequate breathability
I really like all the features of this jacket, but there is one over-riding negative. This jacket is marketed as breathable, but the sleeve liners are 100% nylon. And there are no pit-vents. I may heat up during the day and moisture builds up in the sleeves and they become wet. This is unacceptable condition for me in a cold climate and I have to return the item.

I purchased the Game Camo outfit for guiding moose hunters in Maine. During the first week of use we had 3 days of heavy rain, in which I remained dry and wam. The only draw back to the outfit is the outer shell does not breathe well. I thought the outfit performed well and as a outer layer during heavy rain and it kept me warm in the early mornings and late afternoons when temps were in the high 30's.

This is a quality cover that keeps me dry and comfortable. I was considering the Technical Shell but could not justify nearly twice the price for zippers and patches. The Basic Shell does the job for me. Nice lining and enough room for layers.

I bought thtis jacket after checking out all there was to offer from other outfitters. It was price the same, if not a little better then competitors. I had been on the fence as to get this jacket or the technical shell, but I am happy with my purchase. Sheads water great, is warm enough on some the the cooler days that we have had. Another nice thing is that I already own a fleece sweater that will zip into it, saving me from buying the lightweight liner. I still might get the heavywieght, time will tell. A down side is that, the one that I received do not have the internal pocket as described in the description. I don't know if it is a fluke, or if they changed the design, or whatever. Dispite this I still like it.

Used this shell while fishing in the wind and rain. It kept me warm and dry. It's light weight and lets you move freely without excessive noise which would be good for hunters. I plan on buying the liner so I can use it in the winter.

Initially I wanted the Technical Shell, but I waited too long and they quickly sold out. This jacket coupled with any LL Bean liner was AWESOME! The material is quiet and like always has outstanding quality.

Rated 4 out of 5áby DigitalShooter "Basic" is great bargain
I bought this "Basic" shell because the "Technical" model was sold out of my size (L-tall). Not sure what I'm missing, but this is fine with me. It's soft and quiet. I would note the jacket doesn't quite cover my crotch, but I'm 6'3", and it almost certainly would do better with normal folks.) If you're on the move, this hooded jacket would work down to low 20s maybe even teens. If you're stationary, depending on layers, it might suffice to 35. (I bought the "Heavyweight Liner Jacket" to cover my options. It zips nicely into this shell which has a second set of zippers for that purpose.) The hood has a nice contoured fit with good visibility. The high collar can be zipped up over your chin, if not your mouth, depending on how you choose wear it. That front zipper has a snap-down flap to cover its length. Cuffs have Velcro-like straps to seal over or under gloves. Strong but elastic cords with slip-locks can tighten the bottom of shell over pants. The lining is soft and porous and will pick up its share of lint (unlike the Liner Jacket which has a taffeta-like, slippery lining). It has two huge zippered pockets in front (no small chest pockets). As indicated, it's not perfect, but at this price, it's a brilliant bargain. (I'm impressed with the whole "Big Game" line. I also have the insulated pants in addition to this shell and the liner jacket.)

Rated 4 out of 5áby hd4lyf Not bad, however..
Kept me cozy, however, when I had on a fleece underneath, the sleeves got wet from perspiration inside. I had to turn them inside out to air dry.
