I purchased this for the kids to use at Old Orchard Beach and ended up spending more time with it myself. It is a great kite and would probably work for a 7-8 year old and up. It handles very well and unlike the triangular shaped kites of old, it doesn't dip and dodge right and left. I has a double foil design like the high end rectangular parachutes you see the trick parachutists use. Excellent kite for the money and hopefully will provide years of use.

We bought this kite on our way out of Boston when we were heading up to New Hampshire and Maine for a day trip...knowing we would stop along the way on a beach. When we got to one of our first beaches, the kite was easy to 'assemble' (take out of the pouch and tie strings together). There was no fuss or frustration with the string...reeling it in or out. One of the best purchases we made during our trip.

I bought this kite for my grandbabies while visiting my son and his family in Maine. My granddaughters are 6, 5, 4, and 2. The three older ones could easily fly the kite even though there was only a slight breeze the AND it actually stayed in the air with very little effort. Yea! How many kites can you say that about?! They LOVE it and so do their mom and dad! Thanks LL Bean for making a terrific product.

Extremely portable. Has carrying case. Strong string. Easy to fly. Compact, yet big when it flies. No assembly required. You can pack this one up in a suitcase and bring it with you.

My husband and I have been dying to go out and try out our new kites, but the weather just hasn't been cooperating. So even though the winds were only about 3 mph with some stronger gusts here and there, we went out to see how they would do. This kite really took off! It flew so easy and so steadily, and when it did crash, it was very easy to get it to fly again; just a pull of the string and it was back in the air!
I would highly recommend this kite to anyone who wants an fun and easy toy to play with on breezy days. Plus it's beautiful!

We bought this for our 12-year-old great nephew to bring on a beach vacation. It has no "bones" and is made of fabric so it fits in a tiny corner of a suitcase. The string is included and comes on a reel that attaches to the stuff sack with snaps. Brilliant! The kite has beautiful colors, is easy to fly and has a fabulously long tail. Our nephew loves it. I highly recommend this item.

My son said the kite is very beautiful, but he and my 8 year old grandson worked for an hour and could not get it up. They live on a hill. Wish I had bought the less expensive one that said guaranteed to fly.

I ordered this kite on a breezy March day in Wisconsin and it arrived about a week later on an equally breezy day. My neighbor stopped by to give our kids a play date and we opened the box together.
Even though Laura has a history of failed kiting activities, she was so excited that they all piled into the van and took off for the school fields.
2.5 hours later everyone returned with giant smiles from their fist successful kite flying event.
Great kite, breaks down nicely to pack and travel, no breakable parts.
Strongly recommended for anxious kite flyers everywhere.

i took the kite with me on my vacation, then gave them to my 2 nephews ages 12 and 8. the older one had easy time flying the kite, the younger a lit bit of problem.. but once the kite was on air and we had plenty, it was just so beautiful to look at.. everyone near the ocean boulevard also had fun watching the kite.. i bought another kite so that i can give it to my other nephews..
