Rated 5 out of 5áby turtlegarden cool as a cucumber
Our old plastic cooler had seen better days. We bought this one just before a ride north for the week. The cooler sat in the HOT car all day while we were at Storyland. Mind you we didn't have dairy product in the cooler. We didn't want to take that gamble. By the time we reached our destination and unpacked everything was still chilled. More ice than water!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby NYCamper Awesome cooler!
I owned one of these for years and finally got a new one in green. Keeps food cold and drains well. Only concern is it can get heavy packed with food and ice but the cooler itself is awesome

This I a great cooler just a little on the heavy side but if you are not having to carry it far it is a long time winner.

Great buy! Keeps things cold for longer periods than most of the coolers we have used. This is our second chest. The over 30 one still works, but looks old and tattered to take places!

This is a terrific cooler. Love the red color. I read the other reviews and they mentioned a problem with the latch but the cooler I received was perfect. The latch is solid and seals the cooler without any difficulties at all.

We love this cooler. We got it in the forest green color and love the retro styling. It's quite large and seems to work very well. The only thing we wish were different was that the receiver in the lid for the clasp be metal rather than plastic. With some force you can pop the lid off without unclasping it. Of course, that would never naturally happen but I could see it wearing out over time. That is a minimal problem and overall we think this is a great product.

áby mom6 Heavy Duty Cooler
I bought this cooler for my farm milk (door-step) delivery (yes, some farms are bringing back milk delivery!) and beach trips. I needed something that would stay cool longer than the average cooler.
I am very pleased with it being made in the USA. Everything seems sturdy on it, even the lock/latch, from what I can tell. My husband did expect something more heavy-duty for the price, (possibly he expected something from his childhood?) but I am pleased. (Just wanted to give a man's perspective).

Rated 1 out of 5áby Beanlover4life Lousy Latch!
The latch on this cooler does not enable the lid to close tightly. This defeats the purpose of the cooler! I returned one cooler for this reason. Then I called the main (Maine) store and asked for another one that was physically/visually checked first. Same problem with the second one! Very disappointing because, otherwise, it's a great cooler. I suppose you could put a heavy rock on the top but for the money you shouldn't have to!

Pleased with the workmanship and sturdiness of this cooler. Especially liked the metal handles.

Rated 5 out of 5áby IndianaHank Kept Ice Packs Frozen for 3 Days
Used this cooler for the 1st time this past weekend for a 3 day weekend camping trip in PA. Have zero complaints with its performance. The handles made carrying it to and from the car easy and the drainage spout was a welcome addition to drain the loose ice that had melted. My home made ice packs stayed frozen for the duration although they had, in fact, started to melt by Day 3. I use plastic 1/2 gallon milk jugs as ice packs. Just fill 3/4 full and freeze them laying down. Then line the bottom of the cooler with 4 of them and you are ready to go with re-usable ice packs. The added bonuses are two-fold: 1) if you take one out and let it thaw, you have clean drinking water in a sealable container (I recommend using milk jugs with plastic caps that screw on as opposed to the ones that merely snap onto the top of the jug); and, 2) since the ice is sealed in a jug, as it starts to melt, it doesn't release water into the cooler preventing its contents from becoming water logged. I have read some reviewers complain about the quality of the lock itself but I have experienced no such issues. Granted, I have only used it this one time this past weekend so time will tell but as of now, I give this cooler 5 stars. If the lock does ever fail (e.g. breaks), I will update my review.
