This bag does exactly what it was described to do: it keeps everything dry and is excellent for kayaking or rafting.

1st impression is that this is a well made bag. I backpack in slot canyons where you're up to your waist or deeper in water. I'll use this to keep my sleeping bag and clothes dry and free of muddy silt.

I packed my cloths for two day trip and used my White Mountain Pack to carry my stuff. This test proved invaluable; While I stayed at hotel, (a practical test), I was able to put all my cloths in this dry bag for my two day stay with one overnight. In addition, I found that I could pack things down really well and still have room in the pack for other things when I backpack in the wild. Furthermore, I like this product because it will keep things dry and it has window to see your stuff; no guess work. Finally, I make every effort to pack the dry bag, according to, priority of things used; thus, things at the top will be used first.

Sea Line makes good quality bags that are watertight. This style bag is a light duty dry bag that will keep contents dry from splashing water or a short, accidental drop in the river. This is not a heavy duty dry bag that one would use for white water rafting or where the bag stands a good chance of being submerged in moving water for more than a half minute. I like the see through "Kodiak window". The purge valve works well only when the bag is not over stuffed blocking the valve from working properly. And, the roll top must be folded over several times for a good seal. If not, air can still leak out of the top when bag is compressed. The plastic clasp seems sturdy. There is only one clip on point on the top clasp. I like the squared off bottom to help the bag sit up while loading. Smooth welded seams may hold most gear. I would not carry sharp objects inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Closetfullofbeans A good deck bag
I've only had it a season, but so far, I'm happy with it. Everything has stayed dry on my relaxed trips through calm waters.
Pros: Love the window- it makes it very easy to find what you are looking for. For my needs, it is durable. I like that it has a D ring, but it fits just fine under my deck rigging. Nice colors.
Cons: These have a more plastic feel than the other deck bags offered. This is the tradeoff for having the window feature.

I was afraid the bag would be too big, but it folds over easily if all you need is a smaller one. The D ring allows you to attach it to your kayak. The window is handy. Placed a map in it on a recent trip.

As advertised this product kept my camera and book dry while I was paddling my kayak. I haven't tipped over yet so I don't know whether my bag will keep my things dry in the water.
