Rated 5 out of 5 by jwdoor Save money on paper plates
These dishes are re-usable so I am happy to not be throwing away paper plates and cups every meal when I am camping.

by crasht1224 Good - but chipped after one use
The items were as advertised. They're a lovely blue color and I was so excited to use them. I didn't have too much of an issue with the sticker placed on each item (as some prev. reviewers) - it came off with a soak in soapy warm water.
I used the mugs once for tea - they get super hot! This is my first time with enamelware so I wasn't prepared.. it makes sense, though. They're metal and conduct the heat.
My one big issue is that one of the mugs already has a chip on the lip. I wont be returning them at this point because the cups will likely get the least amount of use so I don't want to return the whole set for one defective cup. Hopefully the rest hold up - I hope to have these for many years to come!

The dishes are solid metal with enamel coating. Good for camping or any out door eating activity. We use them for picnics, nothing to break or throw away, just wash and reuse.
That said the edge of the plates, bowls, and cups are rolled over and can be sharp. Not a reason not to buy, but be aware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by swick wonderful set
We were tired of camping with paper plates and cups, and looked at a lot of sets before deciding on this one. I think we chose wisely. The finish on these dishes is great and pleasing to the eye, and although they are lightweight I think they will wear like iron. The design of the set was well thought out: the dishes have a deep rim, the bowls are deep but not tippy, and the mugs hold a generous cup of coffee (or juice, etc.). And to top it all off, they clean easily, too. Thank you L.L. Bean.

This is a high-quality set of camp-ware like our parents and grandparents had years ago. I bought them for their retro styling. The color and speckles are perfect, the plates are all perfect, and the quality is very high. I've seen cheaper sets out there, but they did not compare in quality.
The only down side is that there are these inventory tags put on each piece by the manufacturer that come off in millimeter pieces. I swear that they were put on with crazy glue! It took over an hour to get off what I could get off of them. I hate that! It?s not LL Bean?s fault because they didn?t make this set, but I wish someone would tell the producer that you don?t need inventory stickers in a sealed box!
Anyway, I would still buy this set. It?s awesome. You may want to soak them first to get the tags off.

We just used these on our camping trip to Yellowstone - and they worked just fine. Easy to clean, durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NovaScotiaLLBeanFan Great set, great quality - worth the money
We purchased this set for our family for camping because it reminded us of the sets our families used when were kids. The set is really good quality, heavy duty (but lightweight), and washes up well. We like the design very much (very practical). We will be purchasing an additional set as we are a family of five, and this set comes in a 4 place setting. So that would be helpful - to be able to purchase individual pieces or place settings. However, I'm sure we'll use the extra pieces for family and friends who join us. Another LL Bean quality item - very pleased and highly recommend.

The enamelware is a nice weight, not cheap or flimsy. I was very pleased with the plates as they have a rim around them that makes the plate deep so your food does not fall off. I will be purchasing at least one more set very soon.
