Rated 5 out of 5 by KMcGhee Gaiters are great!
My husband and I were so pleased with our gaiters we bought some for our son who works in the woods. They are light-weight but offer such wind-protection and waterproofing and are so tough that we use them for everything! Whether it's leisurely walks in the wet fields, or in deep, crusty snow, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, working in the woods or on the ramp at the airport, they are the perfect last, outer layer. You do need to order a larger size than you might think. I'm 5'3 and 125lbs and my gaiters are the Men's medium.

One of the best pieces of winter gear I've ever bought. I recommend this to whoever works outside in deep snow or even rain. They keep your bots and pants below the knee dry. Just make sure you buy the right size and have leather straps. I had gaiters from another store that had shoelace ties on bottom that lasted about two weeks before they broke. Very good value for the price. I highly recommend them. A liner would make them even better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by quintescence Great option instead of boots
I have worn these many times this winter in deep snow. I go on hikes in the woods with my dog (2 - 5 miles); these gaiters are the best! they fit with my trail shoes and don't fall down like some of the other reviewers stated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by enavigator Good-but not good
Based on previous reviews, I ordered a size XL. My snow boots are a size 10 and I thought the XL gaiters would fit fine. They did not !
I could only fasten the bottom under boot strap into the last hole and it positioned the gaiter too low on the boot to fasten the front lace hook. If the under boot strap could be made about three inches longer (Seems like an easy fix !) these gaiters would be SUPER. Otherwise these gaiters are very well made and would last a long time. I was disappointed that I was unable to use them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by june3 Great lightweight gaiter
I was really pleased with these gaiters. They are lightweight and provide great coverage for my recreational snowshoe treks or winter hikes. Note on sizing - I'm petite and the medium fits snugly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdoorsPersonBoston Excellent gaiters
I have been wearing OR gaiters for years and finally talked my husband into trading up from his old gaiters that took about 10 minutes to lace up. He regrets not making the switch to OR gaiters sooner! These gaiters are easy to put on, they stay in place and protect the leg/ankle very well. After several winters, I cannot detect any signs of wear.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ferrygirl why can't llbean get sizing right on anything
Been a loyal customer for 20 yrs. In the last 2 years most everything I orders goes back because of size issues. This is the perfect winter here in Michigan'UP for Gaiters. Had I gone by your specs I would have ordered a Small. Most reviews said size up. I did, they were almost too tight, and we have so much snow I decided to go for the MT.High and I ordered a large. I have a size 5-6 foot. The large is smaller than the Med. I can't even close them. And the strap for under the foot is not placed as well as on the shorter med.style. and the strap is too short. It seems an outdoors company in business so long could get Gaiters right. This is one loyal customer who will not be doing much business from now on

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rickaren Using with Hillsound Trail Crampons
When I attempted to install these Rocky Mountain High Gaiters on my Men's Bean Boots by L.L.Bean, 6" I needed help! Yes my Wife had to assist me getting dressed, like a school kid going to school for the first time! Had to run the lower strap under the shoe, but on top of the Hillsound Trail Crampons and then figure out where to hook the boot lace hook. She figured out to use the top rear rubber strap of the Crampons to attach the hook and then it was just pull up these Gaiters that reached just below the knees on me.
If you have not bought or considered LL Beans Hillsound Trail Crampons with these Gaiters think again. I walked 17 miles with the dog last week in fields of heavy snow and drifts. As the eleven plus inches of snow started to melt into mush then just mud in unstable dirt the Crampons kept me level and the Gaiters kept me dry even in the rain.
I still have the Gaiters and Crampons attached to the boots and have not removed either from first installing them more than one week ago, and will walking in them again tonight in uneven wet fields. Hopefully we will have an early spring!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MichiganMH stay on and stay dry
I've got a pair and so does my wife. We both enjoy these. I find the bottom strap a bit small. I have had these for over 2 years and i'm now pretty good at getting them on and off quickly. I like the front hook, which stays on for me, and they sure do stay up. I've had other pairs that fall down over use, but not these. I keep the bottom strap set so i'm not adjusting it each time and just use the Velcro closure to get in/out of them. Overall a good purchase and I recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pierogi Good materials, not-so-good ergonomic design
The gaiters are well constructed from a materials and fabrication standpoint. They perform well, do what they are supposed to do, and look like they will hold up well over time.
However, getting them on is very difficult. Trying to align a long length of hook-and-loop fastener on a tapered item wrapped around your ankle is exceedingly frustrating. This should have been a zipper, not hook-and-loop. Also, as many other reviewers have pointed out, the boot strap is placed too far back, making it difficult to attach and stay put.
My reason for buying them was to keep my pants dry while hiking through snow. In retrospect, I would have been better off to simply buy rain pants, which would have accomplished the same objective with less hassle putting on.
