I bought the horseshoe set for my husband as a birthday present. It is beautifully made and packaged. The hefty horseshoes and long metal stakes fit into the carrying case, making them easy to carry from home to friends' to parks. He is difficult to buy for and this made him smile.

KathrinT Horseshoe Set
I purchased this LL Bean set last summer, and have enjoyed playing horseshoes with them. Yesterday I had a High School Reunion, and many of us played, but during the final (wish it hadn't been, but) game played, one of the horseshoes split into two!!!
It had hit the back board of the pit - but that happens often when a bunch of amateurs are playing, so I don't know why this happened. I would like to get a replacement horseshoe, but could find no way to purchase one through your website.

My husband received this set a couple of weeks ago. He has owned horseshoe sets before but when he opened the box and saw these, he loved them. He uses them everyday and he said they are the nicest set he has ever owned and he also liked the bag that was included. Thank you for making a quality product.

This game set is solid through and through, has a great carrying case and directions on how to play the game, just in case you forgot! I am looking forward to setting this up next spring for my son's graduation party.

Have used this set a few times & so far so good. Everything feels solid. My husband is enjoying playing horseshoes more than he thought he would! We like the convenience of the carry-bag -- only suggestion is : the bag could be an inch longer & have another inner loop handle to put the 4th horseshoe into. People at the park we use are fascinated to see horseshoes being played & many kids ask "what is that?" so we get to educate them about the game.Glad I bought this set!

These are Good, just not Great. The Horseshoes come out of the box fantastic... but they rust almost immediately. Left them out one night, and the morning dew has already caused some rust. Not the end of the world, just not great.
And the stakes are interesting... they look as if they are just metal, but they are actually painted metal, and began flaking as I was unpacking them from the shipping material. It's not the end of the world, it just doesn't look great now. It would have been better if they weren't painted at all.
So, there is nothing absolutely "wrong" with the set... I just don't think they are "great." And at $70 for the set, I would hope that they would be more rust resistent and have stakes that aren't painted.

This horseshoe set is one of the nicest I've seen in a while. It is of the highest quality. The product is well constructed, durable and a great value. It should provide years of outdoor fun to friends and guests visiting my home.
