Rated 5 out of 5 by Chester395 Supportive and casual shoes!
My husband's sensitive feet create problems when it comes to purchasing shoes. He wasn't certain if these shoes would hurt him until he wore them outside a few times. This pair is a gem! They have a wide toe box which reduces stress around the toes. In addition, they are supportive, stylish and casual. I would highly recommend these reasonably priced shoes. Return if I am wrong. LL Bean 's return policy allows you to really try out the shoes. If they don't fit right simply return at any time! You can't go wrong.

I have walked miles on at least 5 different continents and have bought and tried shows of all different materials and styles and with these Keen Austin Lace Ups I have found the ones I hope never go out of manufacture. These are the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever used in 55 years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by pseudo Didn't work for me
I wanted some shoes I could where with day-to-day clothes and also for work-outs. In the past, I have always had to change my shoes between these things, which is not a terrible burden, but somewhat annoying since I also have to swap out my orthotics, sometimes several times in a day. So, I saw these. The look is good for my purpose. I liked the wide box. However, there were three problems I had with them after wearing them extensively for several weeks: the top edge at the heel gave me blisters and didn't seem to be breaking in over time; the soles are relatively heavy and become a little awkward, for example after a long walk in the hills; and I developed a pain in my knee after about two weeks which persisted until several days after I stopped wearing them. That said, the shoes do have advantages that could be very good for some people: if the shape of their heel is such that they don't get a blister, if they really need a wide box, if they don't go for long walks in the hills, and if they don't have 67-yr old ex-jogger's knees.

My husband really gave these an honest try, wearing them around the house for a few evenings before deciding that they just weren't comfortable enough to keep. Not sure if it was him or the shoe, but only one shoe was giving him problems. He doesn't typically have this problem. He owns a pair of Keen water shoes and loves them.

A true hybrid of a hiking and casual shoe. Solved my plantar fasciitis.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CoSpgsWalker 3 months in, already falling apart
I use these shoes for morning walks with the dog. The rest of my workday, I wear other shoes, so I really only use these for about a half hour or so every morning. Nothing strenuous. City sidewalks. Bike paths from time to time. I've only been wearing them for about 3 months in this fashion and was surprised to find today that the soles are falling off them. Not kidding. Just started on the right shoe as far as I can tell. Don't want to pick at the left one. Otherwise, I really liked them. Fit great. Very comfy. Still - can't pay this much money for shoes every three months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HotDogJohnny Nice but no fit
The quality of the shoe was excellent. I generally wear a 11-1/2 but these were a good 1/2 size too big for me. I also found these to be very wide and heavy. I think they would be great with a heavy sock perhaps. I sent them back and decided they may be too wide for my foot but would love to have a pair that fit well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by shoelessinCt didn't fit me, had to return
Tried another pair on in the store which seemed to fit but I wanted to look around prior to purchasing. I ordered the same style and size as what I tried on in the store but the pair that I got didn't fit as well. The instep wasn't comfortable.

My first Keen shoe purchase, and I am delighted.
My shoe size varies from 10 to 10.5, so I ordered the 10.5 and held my breath as I tried them on. They're perfect!
Although the new shoes are comfortable as is, I added a pair of Powerstep Pinnacle inserts for additional arch support and heel cushioning, and I can tell after just one day that these will be my go-to shoes for casual and everyday wear.
Extremely satisfied with this shoe choice AND L. L. Bean's exceptional service.
