The 10' Manatee Deluxe is stable with a large cockpit, comfortable adjustable seat, easy foot support adjustment. Relatively light weight for the size and very rugged. Two minor disappointments....the rear hatch has a water tight cover, but it's not compartmentalized. Underneath it's just open to the rest of the hull. Doesn't make sense to have a watertight cover over an area that isn't waterproof. Also, it doesn't have a drain plug. Emptying water is difficult.

Rated 4 out of 5 by stanleyczyzyk Great all around kayak
This is a great all around kayak. Great size for people even 6'+.
It is lightweight, tracks well, maneuvers well.
Only complaint is that it should have a true dry hatch, but using dry bags is very easy workaround.
I am planning to get the harmony console, which I have read fits this kayak very well.

I researched recreational kayaks for small women and chose the 10' Manatee with some reservation as I am new to kayaking. I made my maiden voyage last week in the smooth waters of the Contoocook River in NH. It fits me well, the kayak maneuvers well and is easy to paddle. I am very pleased and would recommend this kayak to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kayakah Just What I Was Looking For!
I am a new kayaking enthusiast and finally decided to buy my own recreational kayak. The price was right and I couldn't be happier with the quality. I am a 5'1" woman and with a little practice and some help from my Thule assist bar (also purchased at Ll Bean) I have no difficulty loading this kayak onto my Forrester.
I go kayaking every week at different lakes and also some flat water river sections.
I couldn't be happier!

This is such a great product. Have been out on Shaker Pond and enjoying it very much. I can load and unload it very easily son my rav4. I am a 66 years young female and can handle this all by myself. I did get the lanyard to hold on to the paddle in case I got looking at the wonderful nature around me and dropped it. I also got the roof carrying system with the tie downs. At first there was quite a humming sound but as a true Mainer went to the directions and found that they have to be twisted and now no more sound. Fantastic product and if I can do it anyone can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JeaneV Excellent kayaks
Purchased two, one for myself and one for my daughter, for weekend trips, afternoons on a local urban lake, trips to Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, etc. Got tired of renting awful kayaks. These exceeded my expectations. Folding seat is a nice bonus. Wish the well were self-contained to hold gear for longer trips, but water bags work fine. We are delighted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ImaFirstTimeKayaker Great Kayak!
I am a first time kayak owner and have been shopping for months until deciding on the Manatee 100 from L.L. Bean. I am very pleased with this kayak and it is very easy for one person to carry and launch. It tracks well and is very stable even in light chop. Under heavier chop, some water comes over the bow and into the boat. All and all, for short local lakes and waterways, it is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Louise111 I love it!!
My maiden voyage was awesome! I wish, however, that the website had more information about the cover and why I might need it. The carrier I bought transports the kayak right-side-up on top of my van - which is a problem if it rains. i do not know if the cover that I could have gotten with the kayak can be used during transport or if it will blow off.

These are the first kayaks we ever purchased and we are very happy we chose these. The seats are comfortable and has more space than I expected.
