Rated 4 out of 5 by CBontheEVO Fun for Summer Family Get Togethers
Bought this set for my father, actually. We hadn't picked up a bow in decades and it was a nice trip down memory lane to be taking turns and seeing who still had his A game. We had a family get together at the end of last summer and just about everyone took a few turns with it.
The craftsmanship is very good. The wooden bow is very nice. It certainly doesn't feel like a beginner set. The accessories are a little on the flimsier side, but not terrible. We did buy a separate forearm guard and a set of extra arrows; money well spent to really bring this set into its own.

by Sagittarian Excited, but It's Complicated
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the components of the set; the riser, limbs, string, and case are all good quality especially for the price offered, and considering it comes with 3 arrows, and the free shipping of course!
The only issue I'm having is the arrows included aren't working with the bow string. The rubber finger savers seemed to have been applied too close together, in addition to having a brass nocking ring between them, so now the nocks on the arrows are too wide to fit the gap on the string. I'll have to either carefully slice off the no gloves, or pry off the ring (or get a new string altogether).
Another complication was using the bow stringer. The type of stringer included has rubber caps at both ends. The cap for the top limb ended up covering the grooves, so I could not for the life of me push the top loop in until I stuffed some tufts of cotton into the cap to make it not so snug.
As expected, the arm guard is expendable, it's made of the same material as the strapping on the hip quiver and only 1 inch wide.
These all seem like flukes, since no one else mentioned these problems but I thought I would just put the details in case someone else encounters them.

by besottedgrandmother Best present ever!
This archery set was a 16th birthday gift for my grandson who lives on the other side of the country. My son emailed me to say "Best present ever". My grandson called me with such great enthusiasm and gratitude that I really felt I had gotten it right. My grandson is over six feet tall and weighs about 185 lbs. He's very strong so I was worried that the archery set might not offer enough tension but he was completely satisfied with its performance.

We purchased 2 of these archery sets as a beginning family set that the kids and parents can use. Great set-up and very affordable. The bows are very nice. Kids are 11 & 15 and they have enjoyed using these... The other reviews are right on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gym4fun Great quality, great appeal
Four different friends with excellent archery experience checked out the bow and were impressed with the quality. They thought the lighter pull (I chose 20 lbs) was great for family. We all liked that it came as a complete package with accessories, though an extra purchase of arrows is useful. Great quality, low price. For our big family reunion, I bought both left and right handed archery sets

Rated 3 out of 5 by Marty63 Good product but way over priced
Family Bow and Arrow Set: purchased, along with 6 addl arrows, for 10 year old granddaughter who loves bows and arrows. Bow and arrows, per se, are fine. Bow is very nice, and of typical high LLBean quality. HOWEVER, the following are disappointing:
1. Way over priced. I paid approx $178 for bow/arrow kit with 6 addl arrows. MANY good bows for "family" use available elsewhere for $50 range.
2. Accessories that come with bow/arrow (a stringing cord...unneeded for a very light bow of this type and a pretty cheap quality wrist protector are pretty low quality;
3. When I called mfg for some technical help, they made me feel pretty stupid...talked down to me. My questions WERE basic, but I wouldn't have called them if I knew the answers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ladycop93 Great archery set!
This is a well made archery set. I like what I call the finger cushions on the string. It is very comfortable on your fingers when you don't shoot on a regular basis. It comes with a storage bag that keeps everything together when storing. What I don't like is the arm guard that comes with it. It is flimsy, thin, maybe an inch wide. A better arm guard should be included. I just went to the sports store and bought a good one, no big deal for me. Just be aware. It comes with three good quality arrows. Don't let the arm guard deter you from this bow and arrow set. I bought four of them. Two 20# and two 29# draws. They are great for recreational archery. I have family get togethers several times through out the year and they are a big hit. I recommend these.

I was very disappointed in the products I received. The bow was nice but the arrow holder was fastened at a slight angle as though the person sticking it on was in a hurry. The arm guard was very skimpy and the quiver was a joke. I had to get a sturdy cardboard tube which I inserted inside the cloth quiver to give it stability. The canvas bag was very thin and very flimsy in it's construction with no firmness or stability to hold the bow when disassembled. I would not recommend this set to anyone taking up sport of archery. Buy the necessary items you require to enjoy the sport separately. The only saving grace is the 3 Easton arrows that came with the set. All the arrows are plastic fletched.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GFondell Good set
I bought two left handed sets, one for my 12 y/o daughter and one for my 9 y/o son. Assembly instructions are pretty clear and it was not hard to string the bow. (Be careful, read them 3 times first and go slowly; you'll get it.) I'd have to agree with some comments on the adult version that the accessories are not that great. Also, the arrows are ok. My rating is based significantly on the bow, which is both beautiful and functional, and the overall set. One other small negative, one instruction set was not complete and didn't have the archery instructions. Fortunately, my kids had taken a class or two and knew the drill.
