I was a bit skeptical when I first received these about a year ago. I have the "bonefish", my husband has the "trout". I couldn't believe how such a thin piece of material could keep out the cold winds of winter on my face and ears while walking! They're so thin and tiny we keep ours in our backpacs so we always have them available whatever the season. I'm ordering more and some for my nephew and his Dad. They love to fish and also have a lawn service. These will protect them from the harsh summer sun. I had mine on in the house and my friend commented on my "new infinity scarf", LOL, till I told her what it really was. The prints are so pretty that I DO wear them as scarves now and the other ways too. L L Bean you really scored with these "little gems." As a previous post said, give us more prints and colors.

This headwear is easy to use, there is even a web site to help out for the different ways you can wear the item. It stays in place all day long and washing over and over does not effect its quality.

Great product! This is a generously-sized, light-weight, quick drying, sun protective alternative to a regular old bandana. I've lost my hair due to chemotherapy and this is perfect for spring/summer and at the pool and the beach. I can't stop wearing it. Already recommended to friends! LLBean just needs some more feminine patterns; like argyle, stripes, plaids, whales, crabs...

This is a fun product to use and has multiple uses. Bean has best price at time of purchase too.
The ends have a tendency to curl up. Overall is quite simply a well thought design.

I bought this for UV protection when I'm outdoors and happy with it. Useful when I snorkle so scalp isn't sunburn. And when I run it's more user friendly than a cap for sun protection and sweat management. Had problems with sunscreen getting into my eyes, with this buff it can be worn multiple ways, so my forehead, scalp and ears are covered without irritation of sweat or sunscreen getting into my eyes.

Using this for protection from the sun but also used it on a bike ride in very windy, cold conditions to cover my ears. Used UTube for video on many ways to wear this. Ordering more for the rest of our family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LifetimeExplorer Great solution for a chilly day's outing
I really like this versatile, useful headwear that effectively keeps me warm. I put it to excellent use on a 4 mile Volksporter Club group walk yesterday when it was windy and rather cold. As I started walking, I used this headgear as a hat under my LL Bean rain jacket hood and found it surprisingly warm. As the exercise warmed me up, I was able to quickly turn it into a helpful ear band, and by the time we were completing the walk, I was wearing it just around my neck! It kept my head, ears, and neck warm and comfortable as my needs changed. I've machine washed it twice and it comes out like new. I'm so glad I bought it, for I had hesitated due to the price. Now I'm looking forward to using it under my cycling helmet on a cool day as well as taking it on an international trip.

I purchased this item to protect my neck and face from the sun when fishing in Florida. It can be worn in several different ways, depending on weather conditions. I think it would be a nice gift for those that fish and are concerned about protection from the sun. I plan to order one for my husband!
