Rated 4 out of 5 by Thiboutot123 Stovetop Steamer
There are no problems with it I just wish it was bigger...we heat with a wood stove constantly and I have to keep on going down to fill it.... But the Steamer is just fine otherwise...

The Lattice Stovetop Steamer is an exceptionally attractive way to add moisture the air of a home that is heated by a wood stove. We have just begun to use our second steamer so time will have to tell about its longevity. Our first lasted three or four years, although not in pristine condition for the entire time. We are much more comfortable with the added humidity. I definitely recommend this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bill64 Very Disappointing product
I have had stove top steamers for years and years. After ONE heating season of use on the family wood stove, this steamer is completely rusted and decayed. I'm not sure what changed over the years, but iron is iron and enamel should be more resilient than this product. LL Bean's reputation is too valuable, they should fire this vendor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NewMexicoRose It doesn't have to be so hard!
We had one of these pots for probably 19 years before we decided to buy a new one. We have "funny" water, and the inside of the pot was trashed. It had mineral buildup that ate away the interior enamel. It looked terrible. However, the outside of the pot still looked fine, and it did it's job. We live in a very dry climate, and the water in the pot would evaporate into the air almost every day.
The new pot came with an intimidating list of instructions for keeping the inside of the pot in good condition. If you're going to worry about keeping the inside of the pot in prime shape, you might have a problem with this product. Personally, I'm not going to be fussy and do any of the things they suggest. The pot is going to go on the stove and stay there most of the winter. Another 19 years with an inside that isn't perfect will be just fine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by fanfan2 The top is rusting after only 2 weeks
I received the black version of the steamer 2 weeks ago. It is labeled as enameled. The inside of the pot is enameled but the lattice top inside is not and has already started to rust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jenfnp Lovely addition to our home
Our years old cast iron kettle had seen better days and this seemed to be a nice replacement. It holds a lot of water, which is a good thing as the open grates encourages significant evaporation. This is both a plus and a minus. A plus for the room humidity and a minus for having to remember to fill the steamer. I think we wil get years of use from this item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LukeLovesIt Kind of Small
When it arrived we were surprised at how small the smaller one actually is. Even with the measurements provided we expected it to be a bit bigger. We also felt they are too expensive to go up to the bigger size. That being said, it is still a great item to have. Makes a difference having this on the wood stove adding moisture to the air in the winter months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shoshana Just what I needed
The steamer came to me quickly for which I was grateful as my tea kettle being used for steam had started to leak. I placed the steamer on a wrought-iron trivet on my wood stove. I use soft water to prevent the build-up of lime in it. I fill it according to directions as needed, usually twice a day to prevent it from becoming dry. The lattice top is ideal for steam to rise easily. I would highly recommend this steamer.
