I needed a sturdy nice looking cottage style bookshelf to house my growing collection of graduate textbooks. The LLBean shelf fits the criteria nicely! The only downside is that the bottom shelf does not adjust high enough to accomodate a three-ring binder.

This was exactly as pictured, easy to put together (20 minutes or so) but the paint does easily scratch.

I wanted a sturdy and attractive bookcase for my cookbooks (bottom shelf), and my children's coloring books & craft supplies (top shelf). This bookcase is perfect. Also, when I ordered it on a Monday afternoon, I was told shipping could take one to two weeks. It was on my doorstep 48 hours later. I couldn't have been more pleased with the product or the customer service!

The bookshelf is just as pictured and looks terrific in black, which provides a wonderful background for candlesticks, pictures, etc., sitting alongside books. I put it together myself in half an hour with no issues at all and I am not mechanically inclined! They even include a little tool to use with the bolts. Everyone who sees it is impressed with how great it looks in my living room. Thinking about ordering another....

After searching for a bookcase at a couple of different furniture retailers - both online and in person, I decided to order this bookcase for my office area. The size is perfect - big enough, but not too big. The top slightly overhangs the shelving below which enables me to use it as a little writing desk. It is sturdy, well-made and good-looking. And the price - well, for a wooden bookcase of this quality, it cannot be beat. I love my new bookcase!

The bookcase looks nice, just as pictured, is solid (though made at least in part of "manufactured wood" whatever that is), has a fine surface gloss, and surprisingly holds a lot of books of usual sizes.
It was very quick and easy to assemble. The pieces are clearly marked and the directions are really clear. It can easily be done by one, mechanically challenged, person (I did it).
A caution on delivery: The box reportedly weighs 60 lbs and it is, as designated, extra large. I was originally told that UPS would call prior to delivery to my office. Actually they don't do that. I wound up having the bookcase re-delivered to my home and transporting it to the office. The entire box probably would have fit in my car trunk. Instead, I unpacked it at home and transported it in pieces, which wasn't hard. It is carefully packed with lots of styrofoam, cardboard, and plastic wrap.

I wanted a bookcase to put in our hallway to contain our explosion of books for our small children. I wanted them to be able to access the books easily and keep them tidy. I love the way this cottage bookcase looks in our space and I'm pleased with it overall. My only complaint is that our taller storybooks do not fit on either shelf because of the decorative details that hangs over the front. Other than that, it's a winner.
