The first dresser received had been dropped by UPS. The back was broken off, right front corner split, and left rear corner of the top crushed. I called customer service. They sent out a replacement and a return label. The second dresser arrived in perfect condition. It is well built and worth the price. I also bought the matching bed and night stand, which are a bargain. They arrived undamaged and went together easily. It makes a beautiful bedroom set.

We bought this dresser in 2009 to match the Rangeley bed, which we love. At first glance, this dresser looks great, matches the bed, has nice deep drawers, and seems to be a solid piece of furniture. The tops, sides, front, and drawer fronts are heavy, solid wood. The back is not. The knobs and portions of the drawers are also wood. Combine that with some cheap metal glides and your drawers simply fall forward from the heavy weight of the wood. They get stuck repeatedly, sometimes locking in place while they are open and cock-eyed. Had the manufacturer used only slightly more expensive glides, the drawers might actually work on a regular basis. Unfortunately, they cheaped out like most manufacturers these days. We returned this dresser just last month (2012). Kudos to LL Bean for having a wonderful return policy. Because they stand behind their products, I will continue to shop at LL Bean.

This is a sturdy chest with smooth gliding drawers. The finish isn't that interesting, but it's OK. The chest is a really nice size. Small enough to sit next to a bed but large enough to store clothes in. All in all, well made. Ours was missing two knobs, which is a pain. We will have to by a full set to replace and have it look right. Will try LLBean first.

This is a very handsome dresser. It is well made and very solid. The finish is beautiful and matches the Rangeley bed frame and night stand perfectly. It's all wood, no particle board. The drawers are ample size and slide easily. This is quality piece of furniture that should last for years.

We bought two of these dressers to go with the Rangeley twin Beds. When the two dressers arrived one had a crack going through the wood all the way across the bottom apron. llbean sent a second. The second arrived with drawer glides that had broken parts. A third dresser was sent. The third arrived with the back panel falling off and a drawer with a broken glide. Here are the observations we deduced about the product:
(1) beautiful finish, heavy/sturdy wood
(2) drawer wheel glides are not sufficient for the weight of the drawers.
(3) back panel is flimsy and attached with wood screws intended for thicker wood, which causes the back panel to break away/split--wood staples would've been more appropriate for the materials used.
We loved the beds, but I think the construction of the Rangeley Dresser needs to be revisited. I might add that llbean's customer service was wonderful and they did try their best to make things work out. However, they will continue to have disappointed customers with this product if something isn't changed in the construction of the dresser.

I have the bed and night stand. I love them so I was terribly disappointed when the dresser arrived with several things wrong. In general it was poorly made.

The dresser is beautiful and very well made. It was delivered assembled and that in itself is a big bonus if you've ever attempted putting a dresser together. I recommend it for its beauty and because it is made in Maine. Yay!

I purchased the matching bed a while ago and wanted to buy this dresser for my son's room. It was very expensive for the quality that was put into it. The drawers were nice but the back paneling was very cheap and it arrived damaged. We will be returning this item but will continue to use LLbean cause this is the only problem I have had.

It is a beautiful, well made and very versital dresser. The drawers are wide and deep enough to accomodate T shirts, shorts, turtlenecks and the like. I purchased it to hold all those things that wind up on hangers but should be folded. It is definitley worth the price.
