Received this item within days of ordering. Began putting it together immediately only to discover the front brace (cleat) was missing. This piece keeps the drawer from falling out when opened. Called customer service within hours of delivery on 4/8/13 but still have not received the missing piece. I love the look of the table but am unable to use the drawer because of the missing part. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Assembled with ease. Althought it is not made of the same wood as our other Mission End Table (different size, style and slightly more brown in color) they both coordinate well and compliment each other. The finish is lovely and quality of the materials are excellent. We will get years of enjoyment from this table.

The Mission End Table is a fine piece of furniture that will give you decades of satisfaction. But there are rules for handling it and there are some tricky aspects involved in putting it together. These mostly have to do with the top section of the Table. If you observe these rules and suggestions, I believe that this will contribute to your enjoyment and to ease of assembly.
First Impressions
1. Opening the carton I observed outstanding packaging engineering that protects the Table from damage in transit.
2. Most of the parts are solid wood with a gorgeous reddish brown finish (I bought the Light Mission version, Dark Mission is undoubtedly gorgeous as well). This alone will make you the envy of Europe.
3. Most of the work has been done for you. Note that partial assembly of the Table lowers transport costs to you as the consumer.
Some Rules of Engagement
1. Be present when your shipment arrives. Wood products do not tolerate moisture, heat, or bad weather at all well.
2. Lay the box FLAT in a dry, temperature controlled environment. This will store the Table safely until you can assemble it.
3. Before assembling, have all tools on hand. Having larger as well as smaller Phillips Head screwdrivers around that fit the screws provided will allow you to apply more torque during assembly.
4. Be careful about excessive use of an electric drill (see below).
5. Count all parts before you begin. If any are missing or damaged, LL Bean will replace them.
6. Consider lightly dipping the included screws in clear liquid soap as you insert them into the countersunk holes. This makes it easier to tie the wood pieces together tightly by hand.
Two Tricky Aspects of Assembly
1. Early on you have to leave the side pieces, and the shelves and the drawer assembly LOOSE. This is because you have to maneuver the brackets for the side pieces PRECISELY over the holes for the bracket screws in the underside of the top. Leaving some play along the sides will let you do this easily. Leave the screws loose until the end, AFTER the brackets are completely tied into the underside of the top.
2. Be very careful about the use of an electric drill, especially in relation to the top section of the Table. It is tempting to use a drill extension with a hexagonal cup, along with a hexagonal Phillips head drill bit (about 1-2 inches) that fits into the cup. But beware. This equipment is so powerful that it can drive the head of the screw clean through the countersink and that can damage your Table. Use the drill sparingly. Apply only short bursts of energy when you do. Use it little.
If you observe all these steps and precautions you will have a really beautiful Mission End Table that will grace your home for a long time. This is timeless elegance that will never go out of style. From the front the Table is very Shaker-like. From the side it is in Mission Style. That's why I describe it as Shaker Design Meets Mission Style.

Very poor quality, workmanship, parts unstained! Varnish chipped, scratched, sent back, second one was worse, the top of table was cracked in half! I am very disappointed in LL Bean! I believe I should receive some compensation for my trouble!

We wanted something simple but attractive for end tables to accompany our couches. We purchased two of these and they are durable and look good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by bgmomof4 Great little table!
I bought the end table to accompany the Mission desk I bought previously at LLBean. The end table matches perfectly, and looks great in my office. The assembly was tricky, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. We actually had to return the two side legs for two new ones, as the ones we received were badly warped. As always, Bean's corrected the problem immediately. Two brand new legs were sent and our lovely little table was complete. Great customer service!

This end table is the second piece of this furniture we have gotten in this grouping. We love both pieces. The wood quality is high and the finish is perfect. It arrived in just five days. It's really easy to put together, also. We will probably order more.

Perfect size, just what I wanted! My husband put them (got two) together with no complaints and they go together very well with the rustic coffee table we purchased last year. Just the perfect warm and casual furniture for our home. Love the drawer and shelf.

This table is very nice! Once put together it is just beautiful! I think this piece is very well made and the quality is superior to other furniture I have seen in furniture stores, plus LL Bean stands behind their products, which I love! It is quite heavy once it is put together. All hardware and pieces arrived in excellent condition. The quality is excellent!!!! I am very happy with this table. I wish they would make a square coffee table with a drawer and a bottom shelf! Hint, hint! I would not hesitate to recommend this furniture. The best part was that it's made in the U.S.A I plan to buy other pieces in the near future.

Beautifully made table and packed well in box. However, the color did not match the pictures displayed in the brochure or online (light color slightly on the orange side). Rep said it should match the brochure but did not. LL Bean should offer to send out color swatches. Even if they cost $ it would have been well worth the cost vs taking the tables back to the store. Return process easy.
