My granddaughter is going to camp this summer. I bought the rash guard to go over the tankinis from LL Bean. The colors match nicely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MarieLily Nice sun shirt, but cut a bit wide
I ordered the Tide Surfer swimsuit and this shirt for my 4 year old, both in the size 5-6. For some reason the shirt is cut way wider than the swimsuit. I like the neckline, and the elbow-length sleeves, and the fabric seems like a nice quality, but I'm a bit disappointed that the shirt is so much bigger than the swimsuit. I suspect it will be too loose to wear comfortably in the water, and will mostly get worn for playing on the beach rather than in the water.

This shirt is too boxy and too short. My 12 year old daughter (who generally wears a 12/14) tried the 14/16 and it was huge on her. We returned it for the 10/12 but it's still too wide and boxy (and too short). There's no way she could wear this in the water without it ending up bunched up under her armpits. Dimensions need to be reworked on this one, I'm afraid.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BeanLLReviews Not Long Enough
My 8 year old daughter has a long torso, and when she raised her arms in this swim shirt, the shirt rose above her belly button. It's very cute, but not long enough. Size up would be too boxy/wide for her, so we will be returning it. Disappointing as the colors were cute, and it was nice to have a non mock-collar option. We've had luck with other bean surf/rash guard tops, but not this one.

Love this on my little girl as it keeps her shoulders from getting sunburned and there is no gaping. Quite durable and dries quickly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LightLuggage Attractive drape when dry, but....
This swim-shirt has an attractive drape when it's dry, but it's not snug enough to avoid floating up in the water. My daughter has average waist for her height. If she wears this for swimming, she needs to have another layer underneath, which wasn't the case with our previous LLBean swimshirts purchases.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheAussieBrooklynMum The ideal cute swim top
My 6-y-old daughter is going through a super-picky phase, and it's been nigh impossible to find her a swimsuit she likes. She gravitated towards swim tops and bikini bottoms, and would NOT give up on an LL Bean size 3 top she was still wearing, despite the agony getting it over his size 6 head! I then had the brainwave of going to the LL Bean website and looking for something similar - and presto! We found it in styles and colors she liked. Unfortunately it was not available in her size, so we had to get a size 10, but she loves it and I figure that's shopping DONE for another 5 years.
While I was online, I added a few swim tops for myself, on a whim that they might be just what I was looking for. When they arrived and I decided they were not perfect for me, I was a little surprised at the returns fee (as I am getting used to 'free shipping AND free returns') but it was a reasonable fee at that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Swimmer232323 Good protection - but not white
I have it in blue and white. Blue is great, fits well and gives good protection but the white was stained by sunscreen in the first use. I now have a white shirt with green stains - basically unusable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JillOh awesome
i have a daughter who is 9 years old and 5'1" tall with a size 10 women's shoe. Swim weird is nothing short of a total pain every year. FINALLY i found the store that has swim wear that is age appropriate and fits nicely and she likes it and it's reasonably priced. Dreams do come true.

Another good quality LL Bean item. Well made and good materials coupled with sun protection mean it's a win-win. True to size and the material is stretchy, so no binding under arms while playing in or by the water. Very nice, indeed.
