I bought the 6X/7 even though my son is nine, since he is 48 inches and 55 pounds. It fits him perfectly. He wore his last LLBean swimshirt for years before it finally wore out. It lasted so much longer than other swimwear, including my significantly more expensive suits, that I knew I had to keep buying the same brand. I felt good about the shirt and my son wore it both days on the river and did not get sunburned at all. He wore it with some cute sun protection board shorts (long) that helped protect his legs from the sun and looked great, too. June 9, 2010
