Rated 4 out of 5 by lopma95 A classic look
I purchased the navy with cream strips three quarter sleeve boatneck in Medium. Turns out it was too baggy in the middle. Once I sized down to a small, the shirt was perfect. The fabric is solid with some stretch and I have a feeling that it will wear well over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by midMichiganmom two colors ordered so far
I really love the weight of the fabric and the fit of this. My husband got me the cream and blue one last year and I just ordered the green. Works well over a tank too for cooler days, or layered under a sweater or blazer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TallKate Picture length not accurate- top is short
The picture on the model is correct: the length is 4-5 stripes longer than the sleeves. The top is not 7 or 8 stripes longer than the sleeves, as shown in the top's other pictures. This top is only a few inches below my waist, making it too short, especially for a plus size. Love the style, love the fabric, am so disappointed by the length.

This is a heavy cotton knit. Stretchy and rather clingy.
Way to short for a plus size.

Have one of these in several colors. Could live in them every day. A little to warm for summers, but great for the rest of the year. Please come out with one with red stripes!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bookldy209 Not quality of recent history
I have been an LLBean customer of forever. The French Sailors shirt I ordered almost every year was a quality, combed cotton, a tunic style and a go to shirt with khakis. This version is stretchy knit and more fitted. So, not only the fabric is of a lesser quality the overall fit and style is not the same. Hugely disappointing as this was my easy vacation pack. Also, two of our adult sons recently ordered polo shirts on which the directions were in French. Our kids have had a decent education but wonder how many buyers understand that washing something "chad" can mean both warm and hot depending. No English included whatsoever. All of which made us doubt LL Bean's status as a New England company and where products are actually manufactured. Thinking twice before I order again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DressFan A nice spring sweater, but a sweater.
The fabric- from the photos I was expecting a smooth, thicker t-shirt sort of knit, but instead it is a spring-weight sweater material, ribbed and stretchy and soft. It isn't bad, it's just not what it looks like on the website. Not a dealbreaker, but I would have preferred to know that ahead of time. I can't imagine wearing this in the summer heat. I'm sorry that I can't post a close up photo.
I ordered two of these (navy/cream and cream/navy) to have something to look forward to wardrobe-wise after having a baby. I wore a L/XL pre-pregnancy, and am 5'9". When they arrived I tried them on just to see, and they stretch and are large/long enough to wear at 8.5 months pregnant without looking odd. I wonder if they will be way too big later, but am keeping them because they are versatile and of good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KiminMD Awesome, versatile shirt
I bought a petite XL, thinking I wanted to ensure I could dry this shirt in the dryer. Buy your regular size, as it runs true and launders beautifully. Like some other reviewers have said, it had a strong dye odor when I opened the package, but that was gone after 1 wash. The shirt washed and dried beautifully, and I didn't notice any shrinkage. The fabric is a substantial rib that gives easily and the size easily accommodates my busty figure, which many LLBean shirts don't do without being huge around the waist/hip. It falls to just below the middle of my seat. I bought 2 colors, and I'm back to buy more. This is a perfect spring/fall shirt. If it's warm, you can push the sleeves up. I'm planning on a trip to France in April, and the temps will be in the 50's during the day. This shirt will be perfect with my light fleece jacket. LLBean, you knocked it out of the park with this one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LuvToWander Still keeping it
I already have 2 of these shirts. I love the fit and and they are just right for the change of seasons. I purchased the emerald/turquoise stripe shirt and the fabric is a lighter weight and seemly not the same quality as the ones I purchased a couple of years ago. I'm still keeping it, though. The color is bright and flattering to me. I'm just sorry things aren't the way they used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AngeRenee classic, vibrant colors, always looks good
I bought one of these shirts and ended up buying three more. I love the Classic style, the colors that do not fade and the versatility of how/with what I may wear them. I like that this is a slightly heavier knit--drapes better and doesn't crease while wearing which always looks so unflattering. I don't put mine in the drier.
