This shirt is both comfortable and nice looking. It fits slightly loosely. The fabric is a nice weight for spring. I had one of these shirts for many years and finally wore it out. I plan to do the same with this one.

I have two of these tops and they don't quite suit me. They are comfortable tops in attractive colors but I'm not quite sold on the fabric I like my tops to be loose enough to offer some camouflage, but although I ordered these in a large enough size, they tend to cling, removing any camouflage effect. The fabric also has a funny smell that I've had some difficulty in elilminating it. These tops are probably fine for someone thinner or more shapely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kat7464 Disappointed
Ordered an XS and was very disappointed, not only in sizing but in the knit appearance of the shirt....old school all the way. The size was huge. I don't totally blame LLBean; they are known for quality, but the size was all wrong (am 5', 100 lbs), and the material felt old and cheap. Returned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GeorgicaPond Love it, BUT....
I have bought quite a few of these over the years. They wash well (but drip them dry or they will shrink about an inch in length). The fit beautifully and very true to size.
HOWEVER, they don't last very long if you wear them a lot. All of mine have gotten little holes in the front where the knitting starts to pull apart after about a two months of frequent wearing. The stiching in the arms and hems also starts to unravel. At first I thought maybe it was just the two I had first bought so I replaced them. Now I realize it happens to them across the board. I am very careful in that I wash them gentle cycle, cold water, and hang them to dry. I'm guessing that if you are less delicate with them they will wear even faster.
I'm still buying them, but now only when there's a sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LifeisaJourney Petite Sizes
Finally Bean's French Sailor Shirts come in PETITE sizes. It is my go to shirt, but I always felt it was a little too much for me. I am 5'2". I own 6 regular size in different colors. Today I wore my first petite sized shirt in pink hydrangea/daylily. I see the difference; the proportions are better suited for my frame. I stayed with Medium and it fits fine. I will now go ahead and order in the other new colors. Thank you.

This is the perfect shirt! Bought navy and cream stripe. It's a gorgeous knit, perfect fit, LONG ENOUGH and no shrinkage that I can tell. Plus it looks fabulous with jeans or dressy pants. And great for travel, doesn't wrinkle. A favorite grab and go shirt.

I live in the mountains, and this top is perfect for the cool weather we have in the spring. I like the one I got so much, I'm ordering another one in navy and ivory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beanfantoo I'm always reaching for it!
I love this shirt. It is so flattering and comfortable that I find myself reaching for it often. The sleeves are a great length, the boat neck is not so wide as to show straps or fall off the shoulder and the weight of the garment makes it perfect for spring and chilly summer nights. I can dress this up or down; it always looks stylish and classy. Will be ordering more in other colors. It's a keeper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by hhshopgirl Stylish and practical!
I have always wanted a french sailor tee and was pleasantly surprised by this top. This is more of a lightweight sweater than a tee shirt and it has become a favorite. I ordered the classic navy with cream stripes and will order more colors in the future. The fabric is comfortable, fitted but not clingy. Love the boat neckline and 3/4 sleeves. This also washes well; cold water in a mesh laundry bag, dry for 30 minutes and then hang to finish drying . . . no shrinking or fading! Fantastic quality for the price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by GeorgicaPond Love the look, but they do shrink.
I've had quite a few of the boatneck tees and I love them, BUT.... they do shrink, particularly in length. I washed them in cold water and put them in a low dryer and lost about 1.5" in length. They still looked good though and when I reordered my next ones I hung them to dry and had no shrinkage problem.
I love the weight and fit. They also look good layered over a thin white boatneck tee. They're great for travel because they drip dry without needing ironing.
