I love this flashlight. It is pretty bright, waterproof, and sturdy. I was a little disappointed to find that it uses coin (watch) batteries as back-up instead of AA or another standard battery but that is a minor issue since you can use solar energy to charge it. The bigger disappointment was that I found the exact same flashlight for half the price not long ago somewhere else. That is my own fault though for not shopping around more. It really is a wonderful flashlight though.

Generally I don't review products, but this item is exceptional.
As you see, it gets very good reviews, and with good reason.
Used a pair of these lights as our primary camp lights on a 8 day climb of Kilimanjaro and a subsequent 10 day photo safari in Serengeti. Gave both a full charge in a sunny window sill before we left the US. Both lights got daily use in very rugged conditions. Recharged them on afternoon 6 of the climb by leaving them sitting on a sunny rock for a few hours, and recharged again a week later in Serengeti. Bright light, no outages, no flickering. A red 'warning' light appears to come on when the charge is beginning to get low, I don't think this is mentioned in the ad for the lights. Their waterproof construction kept out all the dirt and dust, which is extensive in Africa. All in all an excellent product.
One hint - the lighter colored lights (like the yellow) provide more ambient light as some illumination comes through the barrel of the light. The darker colored barrels provide for a more focused beam with little ambient light, just depends on what you like. We used the yellow light most, as the "leak through" light illuminated the entire inside of the tent.
All in all a great product. Plan to buy several more.

I've used this product only a month or so but It's affordable, it's super light (I carry it on my daily sunrise walks); the solar panel basks in the daylight while I'm at work so I'm fairly certain frequent battery replacement won't be necessary. The neon color helps oncoming cars spot me easily walking in the dark. The only thing I haven't had a chance to check out yet is the 'waterproofing' since my state is suffering from 2 straight years of drought. What's not to like?

This flashlight was bought as a gift as I've owned one just like it for many years. We love it here and it has never failed. We've owned many other flashlights in the past and this one continues to last and be reliable.

I really wanted to like this light. The instructions say after 8 hours of a solar charge you'll get 12 hours of light. Not so unfortunately. I tried 3 separate lights all charged properly. Turned them on and left them on and all I got was three hours of light. Even LL Bean is going to look into the problem. Customer service was fantastic. I had to send all three back. The light that it gave out was very good and the battery backup is nice, but if you need more than 3 hours of continuous light on a solar charge this isn't the light for you.

I have tried several LED flashlights and most have been disappointing in some way or another. I was totally surprised to see how well this unit works, and it exceeded my expectations. I was so pleased with it that I ordered another one. It appears to be well made, and I hope to have many years of satisfactory performance and service from it.

We keep a flash light in every room because we have frequent outages. Have not needed this new one yet, but we find the solar option amazing: nothing to wind, no batteries to run out of.

Provides a bright beam and charges quickly and easily on a windowsill during the day. Fits nicely in the hand. Switch is easy to use, and can be operated while wearing gloves. I use this for evening dog walks, and have been very happy with it. It handles mist, rain, and snow with no problems. I was disappointed with the wind-up version, which was too small, had an inadequate lanyard, provided weak light, and had a switch that eventually broke.

Very light, came fully charged. Bought another one for our camper. Will buy two more to replace all flashlights in our camper.
