Rated 4 out of 5 by Savvydressmaker 'Deep Garnet' is not an accurate description
i bought the 'Deep Garnet', and the color is actually just a basic bright red color. That was disappointing. From the website picture of the shirt in 'Deep Garnet', I was expecting a maroon color, but this is cherry red. Too big of a difference. I tried it on my daughter and the fit is pretty boxy. The armholes at the shoulders are cut too big, so the fabric gaps out there and makes for a baggy, boxy shirt. Quality of the fabric is good though.

The fabric and color are nice, but once again the sizing gremlin strikes! I so often have trouble with LLBean boys long sleeved shirts.
I bought a 10-12 and the 23.5" shoulder-to-hem length and 18" width from armpit to armpit were fine for this size range. However, the 19" sleeves were too short - particularly in comparison with a same size Hilfiger or Gymboree shirt.

I have bought these in the past, they look good and wear very well.
My complaint is the poor selection of solid colors,...
Customer service told me these are "unisex", so where are the pretty pinks and purples for girl?

Rated 5 out of 5 by MiracleMontanaMom Long Sleeve Unshrinkable Shirt - solid colors
I bought three of these shirts all in different colors two years ago for my son. Wore them for two years since they were a little big when I bought them. What I love about this shirt is the sleeves because they are ribbed at the end and if they are slightly big they don't look sloppy. What my son loves about them is that they are soft. He is pretty picky about his cloths.
So this year I bought six different colors in a larger size of course. They wash and dry nice and never look sloppy. Very durable shirt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by owsmama The sizing is inconsistent
We have several of these shirts in various sizes, and to fill wardrobe gaps for my two older kids, I just bought some more. They're nice shirts in good colors, though the fabric seems a tad thinner than it used to be. Unfortunately, none of them fits my six-year-old. The old size 5-6 in his drawer was too small (he still wears it, but the cuffs are an inch or so up his wrist), so I got him size 6x-7. Surprisingly, it is way too big. I laid the shirts down to compare, and there's about three inches difference in sleeve length and two inches in torso length. Curious, I laid down the 6x-7 against the size 8, which fits my eight-year-old just fine. There is less than half an inch difference in sleeve or body length--the 6x-7s went in the eight-year-old's drawer for now (along with the new size 8s, which are essentially the same size). The best I can hope for is that they shrink a bit (which would be ironic of course). LLBean, I am really disappointed that you have gotten this so wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by workwoman Only shirts son will wear
My son loves these shirts! They are pretty much the only ones he will wear because he likes the softness and plainness (no writing or images). They wear like iron & I've never had trouble with excessive shrinking or pilling. After my son wears them for two years (I buy big and then he wears them as play shirts when they get a tad small), they get passed on to 2 other active boys with plenty of life left in them.
I do find that they are a little more fitted than some of the "fashionable" tees, so I size up for him if he wants an oversized look. We buy a bunch of these every year, and my only beef is that they have updated the colors. My son's favorite--orange--is gone now. His other favorite (red) is now brighter--more of a cherry red than a barn red--but he's ok with that. He misses the old, more subdued green though. (But you know how Yankees are with change!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by TOTransplant Coming back for more
Admittingly I have shopping on that "other" site, have had no challenges with anything from them with the exception of the fabric getting thinner and thinner. Years past I ordered from LLBean on a regular basis, "I'm back"!!!!!!! I decided to order the above mentioned shirts, they arrived and are great! My youngest shared this morning that it is "so soft"! Making me on happy daddy!
My only challenge is that some seem to be "piling" (if that's the correct verbiage)if they continue to do so, I will send them back for an exchange. My two oldest daughters love them too. Do wish, like other shoppers they where offered in a few more colors geared for girls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rena Very soft, high quality cotton
I just bought 3 of these Ts and they are really soft, silky Peruvian cotton and well made. As a 5' 5" adult woman and I raid the kids department for basics like T-Shirts and Fitness Fleeces because the XLs are quite roomy. I pretty much live in T-shirts when not at work so I love these for their comfort. I highly recommend these both for kids and small adults!!! : )
