Rated 2 out of 5 by Gattopardo Material is too flimsy
I ordered this because I have six quarter zip pullovers from LLBean in various colors. This material was nowhere near the same. Too lazy to return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by HK2013 Comfortable, light weight but pills
I have this fleece in the quarter zip and hoodie. They are a great weight in the fall/winter for layering BUT the sleeves are so short I end up pushing up the sleeves. (I got Mediums) They pill pretty bad too. I expected better quallity from LL Bean. I wash and dry according to the care instructions. I'm 5'5" so I do not need a Tall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kathleen58 Poor quality
I bought 2 of these fleece tops because the quality of previous purchases from LL Bean was very good. These tops are going to the charity bin. They pill horribly on the inside and the inner material is very uncomfortable. They did not hold their shape and are very "sacky" looking after washing. I am very disappointed with the quality.

I like the Fitness Fleece for its shape and color but after washing, do not like the pilling that the inner material does. If it weren't for the pilling, I would have rated this 5 stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by KANS Great item but...
I have purchased 5 of the quarter zip fitness fleece, and been very satisfied until the most recent purchase. The flag blue was fine, but the ivory has been pilling and shedding. Even though I washed it before wearing it, the first time I wore it the shedding was embarrassing! In the car, the seat belt caused hundreds of little fuzzy bits all over the upholstery, floor, and the seat belt itself. I actually had to change clothes because of all the fuzz. The next time I sat in that same seat in the car, I had to change clothes again because the fuzz stuck to the seat belt all rubbed off onto what I was wearing. I was afraid that the fabric may wear thin because of all the shedding, but it seems to be ok now.
While I have been very satisfied with all my previous quarter zips, I will probably not buy any again- just too messy if you get one than sheds!

Rated 2 out of 5 by BlueOwl Not fleecy inside
I was looking forward to getting a nice, cozy fleece but this item is only fleecy on the outside which baffles me. What's the point of that? Inside it is an unpleasant smooth polyester. A rarely send something back but this one is a reject.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PeppyJ716 Nice for the price
The fleece fits well and close to the body...not baggy and droopy like other fleeces. Definitely like the more feminine fit. As others have noted, the inside is not lined with fleece, but with, I think, a polyester material. At first I thought it might be scratchy, but it was actually fine after I washed it one time. A nice fleece for outdoor physical activity in cooler seasons, since you don't get overheated while wearing it, yet stay reasonably warm. Also, if wearing around the house I just wear with a long sleeve t-shirt underneath, and it's very comfortable, even when I keep the temp. low in the house in the winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by lifetimecustomer3 worst ever!
I have been wearing LL Bean products for almost 50 years and this is hands down the poorest quality item I have ever purchased from them. The fit was great when I tried it on right out of the package but after it was washed and dried according to the label it shrunk a lot in the sleeve length and torso. I kept it anyway and wore longer shirts under it. Now I discovered after less than a dozen washings the inside has pilled so badly that it is uncomfortable to wear alone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LLBoston just okay
I like the look (sure, a little more fitted would be even nicer) but my my main problem with this jacket is the pilling. It pills inside the jacket and feels a bit flimsy. I hope they'll work out this problem; I'd buy several if I thought the quality were better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Evyy shrunk so much it's now unwearable
I have four of the quarter zip pullovers and love the plentiful color selection, lightweight warmth and versatility of the fleece. Unfortunately, over time the sleeves and body have shrunk so much as to be unwearable. I finally gave up and donated the four items to the thrift store, where hopefully a petite person will get some use out of them. I am on a budget and sad to have wasted my limited funds on four items that were attractive and fit well initially, but made with poor quality materials. I am replaceing these pull overs with comfort fleece, which seems to have none of the serious quality issues of the women's fitness fleece.
LL Bean - you rarely disappoint - but a reworking of the women's fitness fleece material seems to be sorely needed.
