Ever since almost cutting off the tip of my finger with a traditional, non-locking folding knife when I was a Cub Scout, I have always bought knives that lock. I am pleased with the locking mechanism and overall quality of this knife, and like that it does not have too many gadgets on it. It's big enough to do the sorts of work that I expect to do, such as cutting tomatoes without being too big to keep with me all the time while outdoors.

Love the weight and the locking features. A nice sharp knife you can open with one hand. It's just strange though that the package describes it as serrated. It's not serrated.

Minus's---A little too big for the pocket.
A file attachment would have been nice.
Is also hard to open with one hand.
Plus's---Very good steel, knife retains a good sharp edge and is fairly easy to resharpen.
Attachments are very sturdy.

Great tool! The knife blade locks, which is a personal plus. What's interesting is that on many folding lock-blade knives, the lock mechanism must be pressed to the left to fold the blade...for this knife, the mechanism must be pressed to the right; thus, this tool is 'lefty-friendly.'

A very good alternative for those times when one wants something more robust than the traditional Swiss army knife, but more versatile and less conspicuous than a larger sheath knife. Can really one hand the main blade and it does easily lock into place. The saw is much more usable than the smaller one found on the traditional knife. Arguably a viable tool even when going ultralight.

áby RittyRiot Would have given it 5 stars....but....
This is a good knife/tool. It is a little larger than I thought it would be. (About 4.5 inches closed) The main blade is a little difficult to open with one hand. Once I use it more, it may loosen up a bit. I like the fact that the main blade and large screwdriver lock open. It seems to be made well, with quality materials. The description on the website and on the package itself says that it has a serrated main blade. Mine came with a regular blade. That is okay with me because there is a saw on this unit!

I was looking for a folding knife with a few tools to put in my backpack. The Trekker fit the bill in that is has a locking blade and the tools I wanted and no more. A little bigger and heavier than I would have preferred but I like it.

Quality seems to have suffered at Victorinox since they made my Explorer knife a few years ago.
This is a good knife, except that I had to file the edge of the inside metal liner because I felt the sharp edges as I gripped the handle. Also, the saw was poorly finished with many burrs on the teeth I had to lightly file off.
I didn't get a serrated blade (I didn't want one anyway), but the package said it had a serrated blade.
The overall design and features are good.
Hopefully the blade steel is still of good quality. If there were another maker of these kinds of knives, I'd consider buying from them. Wenger was bought by Victorinox, so there's no real competition.

Overall, quite useful and handy. Love the liner-lock for the main blade; would have preferred the lock release in the opposite direction for one-hand closing.
The addition of a pocket clip would facilitate ease of access and allow one to secure it to a pack strap (hiking) or life vest (kayaking/canoeing).
The "humps" facilitate gripping more securely than I thought at first glance.
