I ordered these for my 6 year olds for Christmas. We tried them out yesterday and they were easy to get on. The kids got the hang of them quickly even though they had never been snowshoeing before. We went up moderately steep hills with no problem.
Before the kids can use the snowshoes, you have to remove the 3 nuts and bolts to adjust the "footplate " to the correct location for your children's feet. But it was fairly simple and there are only 3 or 4 settings, so you won't have to do it often.

I guess we are lucky that we have had continual snow, because my five year old grandson has used his snow shoes everyday since Christmas in the back yard. He thinks they are great and so do his parents. His dad made a pair of the old fashioned snow shoes when he was in high school outdoor ed, so he got those out and the two of them are having a great time. Free shipping is wonderful, and they arrived quickly. Grandma got extra points for giving a terrific gift. Thanks.

Two thumbs up from a 5-year-old grand-niece. Lightweight, easy to adjust, and great colors for kids. You'll never lose these in the snow. Fun to use and "comfy" <quote>

It snowed on my 9 year old grandson's birthday. He loved the snowshoes. Spent the rest of the day on them. Very easy to put on, no need to adjust and they stay on without constant tightening. Stable platform and easy to learn. Great for kids. Package includes poles which are essential for learners. Bag is not a very useful addition.

I bought these snow shoes for my son, who just turned 8, and my daughter, who just turned 6. It was the first time snow shoeing for both of them. My son's were perfect for him. He wears a size 1 shoe so no adjustments were necessary. My daughter's, however, had some issues. She only wears a size 10 shoe so the binding for the front part of the shoe didn't quite close tight enough and her foot kept coming out of the snow shoe. I did move the screws so that the back and front bindings were closer together, but the front just didn't close tight enough. I ended up looping the strap for the front underneath so it is actually under the plastic binding instead of on the top. This seems to be a great work around until she grows into bigger boot.
Besides that, these are great and lots of fun!

Absolutely loved these snowshoes. This is my family's favorite winter activity and we use them frequently. We've never had a problem or defect with the 5 pairs we own and would recommend them to all our family and friends. You can't beat the price and the quality in my opinion.

My wife bought me these snowshoes for Xmas last year. I used them once and they worked very well. I took them out this year and before using them the bindings snapped off at the rivet. I see there was another comment that described something very similar, so I don't think this was just a fluke with my snowshoes. I will return these and try to find a different brand that is made better.

I bought two sets of these two years ago for Christmas
. Becaue of work schedules and the timing of snowfall in the area, we were never able to use them. Well, last night it snowed quite a bit and since we both had the day off, we decided to grab the snow shoes and go for a trek in the woods. When I got them out of the bags, the straps that hold the recycled plastic decking to the aluminum frame were all snapped and broken. I was shocked because as I said, we never used them and they've just been in the closet all this time. The good news is that I immediately called LL Bean and explained the situation. I was told that even after two years, I could bring them to any store or ship them back for a refund/exchange. It's a bummer that I can't go snow shoeing this morning, but it's fantastic that LL Bean will stand behind their product. Thank you!
