The quality was excellent but two pairs of these were returned because of odd sizing. Sizing on bean boots is strange to begin with (I normally wear a 14 but need a 12 in mens rubber mocs) but these are even worse. My wife wears an 8 in every other Bean shoe but these were too short for her so we exchanged them for a 9. The 9 was so wide in the heel she couldn't keep them on her feet.
If you can get the sizing to work for your this is undoubtedly a great product, the fit is just one of a kind.

I wear size 6m or 6 1/2 m in some sizes. This shoe was a full size too large. It seemed to be sized in a man's size 6. The shoe even with the shearling lining was huge on my foot. I was very disappointed that the sizing of this shoe made no sense whatsoever and also offered no smaller size

My dog (a retired racing Greyhound) and I hit the sidewalk at 5 AM every day. If the grass isn't covered with dew, it's got frost, snow, or rain! Waterproof shoes are essential. Slip on shoes are essential. Warm shoes? A bonus for me. I asked for these for Christmas, and my Mom bought them for me. I have really enjoyed them. Warning: do not undo the fancy way they come tied to you! Ignore the picture on the web site showing a cute little plain bow. They come tied up in such a way that pulling the laces actually tightens them for you. If you undo that, I don't think they will.
I have to say I think the price is a little high--which is why I asked for them as a gift instead of just buying them myself. I've been wearing some form of Bean boot since prep school, and the prices seem like they've gone WAY up of late. Considering they're rubber and leather, I'm not quite sure why. But this is an excellent shoe. No good in snow over a couple of inches; it gets inside!

I should have paid more attention to the reviews prior to ordering these. I already have narrow (aa) feet, but these are extremely narrow. My feet felt strangled in them . They are also stiff as a board. When I tried them on it felt like I was walking on a plank of wood. They are going back. It's too bad, a nice water proof moc with lining would have been nice for the winter.

I really liked the way this shoe looked on; however, the fit was off. The shoe ran long and narrow and slipped off my heel each time I walked. Returned and purchased the L.L. Bean shearling-lined boots which I love.

My normal size 7.5 W, and based o reviews, I ordered 7W, but...it's still to long, and not enough wide. 7W is more like 8-8.5M

In a nutshell: I love, love, love these boots. They are a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny. This is the best buy I've made since I can remember. I would highly recommend them, but keep in mind the sizing.
After reading the reviews, I opted for the size 8 (regular) to fit my 8.5 regular-width foot. They fit fine, although at first they did slip off my heel as others have noted. However, the boots were so comfortable that the heel slippage was not enough to get me to send these back, plus I thought that once I "broke them in", this would stop.
I have had these boots for over a week now, and they have been (literally) the only shoes I have worn. They are honestly more comfortable than my slippers. I've worn them in mud, rain, ice, and snow far taller than the boot height (I forgot to bring my taller boots to my sister's place, and she always has lots of snow!), and my feet have consistently stayed toasty warm and slip-free, and the lambswool didn't get scummy. Now that they are sufficiently broken in, they don't slip off my heels anymore, regardless of the thickness of my sock. I haven't worn them without socks yet -- although they are so soft, I want to! -- I'm just afraid the wool will get nasty a lot faster if I do. Now that they are broken in, the wool is still just as soft, and the boots are still just as comfortable as the first time I put them on.
A few people posted that the laces come undone often; in the past week of constant wearing, mine only came undone once. I don't think that is too unreasonable, considering they are leather and can't be tighted down as much as regular laces.

Women's L.L.Bean Boots, Moccasins Shearling-Lined -- love them so far. Lining is comfortable and warm. Size fits me well, although I did notice a little slippage off the heel when walking. (May be a concern with more wear and the lining gets more compacted.) I love the ease of slipping them on to take garbage out, run out for the newspaper, errands, etc. Price point is a little high, but I did not shop around and knew that Bean's quality of materials and workmanship would be worth the cost over time.

I live in cold mud. Warm mud. Snow and rain. Oh yes, we do have sun about 1/2 the year! I originally bought a pair of these for my husband, who has such thin feet almost every shoe slips off. But I loved them and got a pair for myself. Warm, snug, easily tightened with wrap-around lacing. In 3 years of wearing them through 3 seasons, the shearling under the balls of my feet wore down, the heels were also worn a bit and they started to slip on ice. Got a new pair. Must absolutely have them. LLBean's return and replacement policies are to die for!

Flopped off the back of my foot when I walked even with a thicker sock. Usually take an 8 wide, ordered a size 8 wide, but they were just that little bit too big. Size 7 would have been too small. Half size smaller would have worked. Wish they came in half sizes. The width was great. Had to return the moccasins.
