Im not one to go easy on things, if anything has a breaking point I will find it. I walk 50 to 60 miles a day in these boots ,very comfortable and rugged. Im not worried about them failing. built very well with the Chipawa and LL Bean name backing them up. This is the last pair of boots I will own for the next 100 years (give or take).

These are some serious boots. Full disclosure, I actually ended up returning mine, but not due to a lack of quality, that's for sure.
I live in Chicago, and was looking for some boots that can both handle the snow and sleet, but also work in a more casual office setting. These Iron Works boots would certainly have no problem handling a Chicago winter, they were just a tad too heavy-duty for my needs. I was sad to return them though, 'cause they are comfortable, gorgeous, and expertly made.
But if I ever need some serious, heavy-duty, good looking work boots, now I know where to turn. I had heard that the boots run big, so I got a full size smaller than what I normally wear, and that worked out great.

I love the quality of the manufacturing. Made in America!!! They are very stiff at the top but i think they will break in over time. they could also use a little more padding at the top

Both my husband (60-something) and our son (20-something) love these boots. They are fabulous, period -- and worth every cent.

I bought a second pair after three months because I like these a lot. First, the breathable liner works; they are waterproof. I also treat them thoroughly with the propolis product, not to keep my feet dry (they are dry), but to preserve the leather, which I have found the propolis does well. The Goodyear welt (stitched) means the soles can be replaced if necessary. The glued welt that is so common on other brands comes unglued eventually, and the heels and soles cannot really be repaired, in contrast to these. I bought the second pair so that I can allow a pair to dry, clean it, and refresh the leather protection regularly. A cobbler told me that this increases life of each pair by 1/3.

Appearance was very good. Quality of the materials was excellent. Unfortunately, the boots ran fairly long and somewhat narrow. There was also a flaw in construction of the lining where it meets the heel counter. This produced a bump which protrudes into the boot causing pressure on the back of the foot and make the boot uncomfortable with prolonged wear. Unfortunately, I had to return them. The underlined (not waterproof) version may not have the same problems, but I wanted a waterproof boot.

I ordered these bad boys online after a buddy had told me how great they were. I would have liked to have tried them on first but the outlet i live near only had other types of boots, so using those I determined I was a 9 1/2. My first couple days wearing them the half circle ankle bone on the insides on my ankle hurt like no tomorrow, so I loosened the laces which helped a bit. The more I wore them the more comfortable they got and I mean there all leather, so I expected it was going to take some breaking in before they were just like my foot. My only complaint is the sole is raised in a way that didnt take well with my right foot, but everyones bottoms of the feet are different. As far as the shoe itself it looks incredible, the leather is really nice and the guarantee makes me feel like I made the best investment since I started my Roth IRA. Definitely would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5áby TennesseeThinker Great support and quality
I've had this shoe for three weeks now, and I've worn it five times for the entire day.
Quality: Excellent quality shoe. I like the sole. It provides stability in wet and dry conditions. The leather is somewhat stiff, but looks very good.
Fit and support: I got the 10 1/2 wide. It might be a little larger than the standard for this size, but not much. Excellent support from the footbed.
Feel: I got the waterproof version which comes with some ankle padding. The shoe takes some breaking in, mainly in the ankle area. But it's not too bad (I did wear it all day each time), and I believe that the shoe will be very comfortable after a few more wearings.
Overall: I'd highly recommend this shoe for a friend, especially someone who needs extra support in the foot or ankle area. I've had Achilles problems, and have found that having a higher heel on a shoe provides tremendous relief.

Rated 3 out of 5áby spol great foot bed issues with tongue
A long time Chippewa boot wearer, sturdy, durable. Heal slightly more than anticipated but not logger size. The double EE width is great! Very comfortable for a wide foot. One big issue, the boots tongue is too narrow. I am having real issue with the upper boot lace points causing pain and bruising when tightened. The tongue does not go around the foot enough to provide needed padding. May have to return, but do not want to!

These boots run a little large; I typically wear a 13, but they were too long. Returned them and now have size 12 and they fit great. Awesome boots. I've worn Red Wings in the past, but these are much more comfortable due to the fact that these come in wide. Insole is padded so that makes them more comfortable. Top quality construction and I appreciate the fact that they are made in the USA. Looking forward to having these as my go-to boots for the Colorado winter.
