I love this shirt so much! I have ordered nine of them for family as gifts. It is so comfortable and warm. Fit is loose. Great for layering without being too bulky. This is a great cabin shirt that can be worn all year long!

I just got this shirt in beautiful Green Montgomery to wear as a light coat. I was amazed at how soft it is. The shirt does run a bit big as I ordered a small and I am 5'7" and somewhat slender and it was still a bit roomy. Great for layering. I live in SC and this shirt will be a frequent wear on our mostly mild winter days

Many others have covered the great quality of this item, but I wanted to comment on the fit of the mens version to help others.
I'm 6'0" and ~190lbs; 44" chest, kind of broad shoulders. The large is a great fit for me. It is a little baggy, and has a lot of length, but it didn't feel or look goofy. The medium would also work for me, but I like having the option to layer this over a somewhat thick shirt for the really cold days.
I can't wait to wear this during the snowy months!

There's nothing I can add to the 1,000 plus endorsements other than this shirt is luxury epitomized. I've even bought them for family members in northern Europe and they barely take them off (except to launder obviously). Runs a little large so a smaller size may suffice. Spoil yourself, buy it!

I wish I had paid more attention to the comments before ordering the shirt. I have several of the flannel scotch plaid shirts in medium and they are perfectly sized (I'm 5'8"/170). I bought the medium here and it was far too large - even with another shirt underneath. It is cut slightly longer than the plaid flannel shirts. I returned it and the small is perfect - for over a tshirt and a little more snug with another flannel underneath. Great shirt now that the fit is correct.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NewEnglandToughGirl Perfect warm layer, great for women too
I was stuck between LLB's men's and women's lined flannels. I preferred the colors of the women's flannels, was confident about my size (didn't feel like dealing with returns), and was hoping it would have a more flattering shape. However, I was put off by reviews that said the women's flannel has a cheaper/lighter cotton outer and fake front pockets. A clerk in the outlet store also commented that the men's flannels were thicker and warmer.
I decided to go ahead with the men's and couldn't be happier. For a few dollars more, I received a thick, warm, useful, high quality flannel jacket. I didn't find the shape too boxy (at least not more than expected for this type of clothing). While I didn't directly compare to the women's model, I feel that the men's is the higher quality product - thicker, useful pockets, etc. I throw it on around my apartment when it's chilly and when I'm working outside around the barn.
I am a Misses Large in most LLB women's gear. I went for the medium on this (I'm a 6' tall, 200lb athletic-build woman) and it fits absolutely perfectly. Women, do not shy away because it's a men's cut! Just order a size down. Great product, very happy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wibbus Plaid doesn't match at side seams
My husband likes this shirt very much. I noticed that the plaid doesn't match at the side seams and so I called LL Bean customer service to see about exchanging the shirt for one with side seams that have plaid that DOES match. I talked to a very nice person (Alison) who consulted one of the designers or buyers or someone and then explained that although an effort is made to match the plaid on the front where the button flaps are and where the two parts of the front meet, there is no attempt made to make it match at the side seams. So my husband's options are to 1) keep the shirt, 2) exchange it and hope for a better match, 3) return the shirt, or 4) exchange the shirt for a non-plaid garment. He decided on Option 1 - he'll keep the shirt and I'll ignore the non-matching plaid side seams. I've tried to upload a photo (3.99 MB) and keep getting a 504 Gateway Timeout Error.

I ordered this is XL, which is what I always order for my husband in shirts from LLB. It is H U G E. I have ordered down one size and am sending the XL back. It is a well made shirt and will be toasty warm, though seems more like a jacket and should have some side pockets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LoveTheOutdoorsToo Poorly sized
I did not read the reviews about the size. I have a 38" chest and 32" sleeve. Pretty average size. I usually wear smalls or mediums depending on the brand. I ordered a small. I was very excited about this shirt, but it is so big! The sleeves are a little long. The arm pits are low. The chest is definitely not close to the measured size. The small is supposed to be 34" to 36". This shirt is very loose around my chest and I'm exactly 38". The quality of the shirt seems good. However, due to the fact that the size is so wrong and that they don't make a smaller size, I have to give it 1 star.
