This is a strikingly colored vest, which I got in "Plum Wine/Dark Raspberry." The contrasting edging is very smart. I wear it all day inside the house over a flannel shirt so I can keep the thermostat low. It's amazingly warm for such thin material and is a must for layering under my outdoor coats. The only reasons I don't give it five stars are, first, that the zipper is a thin one, and I recently had to return a vest with a similar zipper after two or three winters because it came apart. The other reason is the mesh lining of the pockets which I find grating on dry winter skin. The warmth and windproof qualities are great, as is the styling and color, so I mostly love this vest!

I'm thrilled with this vest. I wear it on outdoor runs in freezing weather and it keeps me warm and comfortable. Features I like: roomy inside mesh pockets (two), outside zipper pockets (two), zipper guard at the chin, length of the vest (longer in back, down to my tailbone), and the overall sturdy structure of the vest--it fits just right and the fabric holds it shape when I'm active--doesn't bunch up in places or ride up when I run. The sale price was unbeatable and I love the blue color--bright and cheery on gray days here in Michigan.

I love this vest. I bought one in the NH store a few years ago and love the quality and how easy it is to launder on a gentle cycle, hang dry. Now I see they are on sale, and its a great price for a quality item. This vest does run large, so size down. Its a nice enough weight for layering and roomy enough where you can fit a turtleneck shirt or sweater under it. Love the color selection, the Wild Aster and the Blue color are very pretty. .

Great quality and I had my logo Embroidered on this vest. I love LLBean vests. The thicker ones, like this one are bonus! Nice zippers and Pockets too. I recommend this.

This vest has traveled with me through multiple airports and hikes through China's southern regions as well as Beijing's windy autumn weather. It layers well under a jacket or over a fleece shirt (L.L. Bean's Big Fleece Shirt). Comfortable and the arm holes were perfect. I read some reviews that said the arm holes were too big, but not true for me. This vest was so good, i purchased another one in brown to go with my K9 search and rescue uniform. It helped provide warmth on an overnight wilderness test where my shelter consisted of 2 garbage bags and a space blanket in 26.8 degree temperature. It's a good investment.

Great Vest, but the black is not really black it is a warm rich deep dark brown. Great color, just not what i needed.
The fit is true to size and I will enjoy it this winter. Shill hunting a TRUE black for my work out gear & game day apparel.
Good length.
