Buy this jacket now! I've owned it for less than a year but that includes fall, winter and spring here in MN and I wore it all three seasons. It is very warm and cuts the wind about 90% I would say. We had a pretty mild winter so I wore this jacket more than any other. If you are being active you can wear this jacket with a decent layer underneath well below freezing (about 20 deg F). IMO it is too warm for anything over 50 deg F, but I get hot easy. The coat is also very well constructed and shows no wear so far.

Well made - as described - nothing exciting but very serviceable. All the right pockets in the right places. Not a great coat for inclement weather, particularly after break-in. Very nice for cool, dry weather in Spring or Fall. The fit was good for lightweight sweaters beneath.

This is my new "go to" jacket. Looks great, fits great, and handles this crazy metroplex weather. Especially the wind! It's as well made or better than the big names that cost twice as much. Good quality that will last. Look forward to wearing it for many years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 Very lightweight
I have an LL Bean wind block pullover fleece, which I love. I thought this would be the same product but in jacket form. It's not. My pullover is heavy weight and quite warm. This jacket is very thin. It's made to block the wind but not provide any insulation. If you're looking for warmth and not just wind protection, look elsewhere.

*The XL fits me well. Not too baggy and not too tight. It fits well underneath a marmot softshell which has an athletic cut. (I'm 6'1" and 210 lbs)
*Exceptional warmth to weight ratio. Polartec 300 is not this warm and weighs more.
*Windproof as advertised. I think this makes it feel much warmer than it otherwise would be.
*Got it on clearance for a great price.
* Very soft/comfortable finish on the fabric.
*The cuffs aren't adjustable.
*Sleeves are just barely long enough. I wear a 36 sleeve, so when I get another, it will be the tall version of this.
* I don't own two of them

First of all, I love the sizing. When Bean says large, it's large. So Many of the overseas manufacturers are smaller than what you want.
I use this all winter, usually as a 2nd or 3rd layer. Most of the time I'm fine down to about 15-20 degrees F. If it gets colder than that I'll throw a down jacket over top of it. And maybe a shell, depends.
I just ordered one of these with the hood...I've waited better than a year for a sale on it! They have it right now for $59 (blue only).

Rated 4 out of 5 by EchoRunner Warm & Wind-blocking - Colors Don't Match Images
I just got wind challenger fleece jacket, and while it's rather stiff for what I expected from a fleece jacket, it definitely blocks the wind and keeps me warm. Don't expect to cozy up in this one, but if you're out for a run in the cold weather (especially if it's snowing or a chilly rain), this will certainly meet your needs!
Be cautioned though: the colors, specifically those of the black-spruce/graphite version, don't match the images on the site. The "black spruce" is more like a forest green than it is a black like the site seems to show. It's still an attractive fleece jacket though!

ordered tall xl for my son who is a tall xl but with broad shoulders, the sleeves are a tad too short. other than that, the jacket is warm when the cold wind blows.

I can't believe how warm this jacket is. I am in sales and this is my main winter coat. I spend a lot of time in So. Portland ME and this jacket has never let me down. When it gets less than 10F a fleece vest is a good idea. Bottom line this is a great jacket!
