I purchased the Diana plaid nightgown. The fabric is not as heavy as the traditional LLBean flannel nightgowns (I have two of them), but it is beautifully soft and comfortable. Because it has less of a brushed nap, it doesn't catch on your bed linens. It will keep you cozy on cool winter nights or when the air conditioner is running in the summer. As a bonus - it is really figure-flattering because of the yoke shaping at the upper front and back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Twolf12 Comfortable and fits great
I saw many reviews that didn't seem to like this product but I love it! The length is perfect for me I'm 5'1 and it's hard to find anything I don't have to hem. The fabric is a light weight flannel but it isn't hot under the covers. It's very comfortable to wear and it laundered just fine. It did not shrink or was scratchy as others have said. I washed it in cold and put it in the dryer on normal and it came out perfect. If you are looking for something thick and heavy you will not like this. I'm hot natured and don't want anything heavy to sleep in so this works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Momshome Not soft like flannel
I just received this nightgown yesterday, & was really looking forward to wearing it tonight after my niece washed it for me today. I was very disappointed. It did not feel soft and certainly did not feel like flannel. As far as being warm, I could wear this on a hot summer night without air conditioning and still be cool. Also, the thread used for the stitching across the back is very scratchy, and on old skin like mine, it is really annoying. The tags at the neck were also quite scratchy. All in all, I really did not like this nightgown, as you can probably tell by this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LovFlannel Best flannel gown I've ever had.
It's been several years since I have worn a flannel gown because we had moved to the deep south. Now we have moved back north to the snowy winters and reading the reviews for the Tartan Flannel Gown made me want one really bad. I immediately ordered one in blue, which I love. It fits perfect, even the sleeve length is just right for my long arms and width is terrific to snuggle up in. Launders nicely, doesn't need ironed. I'm sure I will order another one soon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DisappointedinMA1 Baird flannel
I just received the Baird flannel nightgown. Boy, am I disappointed. This nightgown is NOT flannel, but a heavy cotton. LLBean needs to feel their flannel sheets and then compare them to their flannel nightgowns. They will come to the same conclusion that this nightgown is just plain cotton. It will be going back to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TracyRN Best flannel nightgown ever
I got this nightgown yesterday, and it is all I could hope for. Warm, very soft flannel, medium weight and much more substantial that others I have tried from other top line sellers. It goes to the wrists, throat, and ankles and keeps you warm all over, in bed or out. Roomy. The styling is classic without being frue-frue- no lace or ruffles, and very easy to wear. I didn't even need to put on a robe when I got up and still was warm. It is worth the price.

The flannel is soft and warm. If I'm wandering the kitchen in my nightgown then a light shawl around my shoulders is all I need. I'm not personally looking for a thick material as it would be too warm under the covers. The medium gown falls to my ankles at 5'4" and is roomy without being too large at my 140 lb. I have the red tartan and am ordering the Baird plaid. I can finally throw away my old tattered gowns.
Perhaps the quality of flannel has changed. I wouldn't know as I'm new to LLBean but this flannel is lovely to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by valuesrme WARNING: THIN fabric, not "warm" or "cozy"!
I bought two of these last year and they shrank, pilled badly, and were only marginally warm (not like they used to be in the "good old days" when Bean was not shaving quality to keep prices down, like so many other manufacturers). I kept them because I needed them, but this year's purchase is going back for a refund.
The color (Baird) is lovely; the construction is generally good, although not up to prior levels either (buttons sewn on in an irregular line -- not the good feeling I used to get from Bean's products in the past). However, this fabric is so thin and lightweight, I just couldn't keep it.
We keep our house cool in winter and I buy flannel gowns because I want to keep myself warm while not heating the house very much. This trend toward using thinner and thinner flannel first showed up in the flannel-lined jeans around 5 years ago, but I got around that by wearing thermal underwear under the jeans. However, this has gone too far when a flannel gown just doesn't keep me warm anymore. I would rather pay more and get more than end up with nothing!

Rated 2 out of 5 by likequalityPolicies this one isn't flannel
The fabric on this 2013, Diana isn't flannel. there's nothing on the outside to pill. The inside is so rough it stings.
I'll try the men's nightshirt, but since I weight 100 lb at 5'7" might have to have a party to fill it up.
I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I really need long soft flannel sleepware. LL Bean is the only game in town. And I respect the store for its policies.
Please cut costs in other ways and purchase quality flannel, e.g. drop plaid weaves and offer solid colors. I would buy > six long soft all white gowns (not cream or pink).
