Rated 5 out of 5 by Gump Chamois Cloth Robe
Just received this robe after waiting for it to go on sale. Had to settle for a colour that was not my first choice, however when received, it was great. I try to rely on reviews for sizing information, however for some reason these reviews do not seem to be accurate anymore. Most for this produce you will see say that this robe is over sized and they needed to order a smaller size. Well, I went with my instincts and ordered my normal size and it fit as it should. The quality is excellent, but the "proof in the pudding" will be when it is washed. I am enjoying my new robe and expect it to last like the Chamois cloth I purchased in 1975 and it lasted until the collar wore out 20 years later.

I got this robe right after Thanksgiving and loved it. Two months later the left elbow ripped. I would have hoped for higher quality than that. Was good when it wasn't ripped but I'd be hesitant to get another. I couldn't get another anyways since they don't have another in my size, so at least LLBean took it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oley Normal Size Fits Well
After reading reviews I ordered a small instead of my usual medium. I wear a 40 Reg coat and the small was too tight through the shoulders. Reordered in medium and it fits fine. Past time for Bean to address their problem with product inconsistency as evidenced by various product reviews.

My favorite robe. This is my second one. Light weight yet warm.

This doesn't feel like a bathrobe. It has a weird stiff feeling. Like those thick and rugged chamois flannel shirts that you wear outdoors. Inside you want to be warm, soft, --this doesn't do it for me. Ordered the terry cloth robe instead--much better

L.L. Bean's fit model must be the Michelin Man...this robe is huge! I wear a Large in shirts, sportcoats, outerwear, practically everything and ordered a large robe. I tried it on when it arrived and I swear you could fit two of me inside. Now I have to return and order a smaller size, which is a pain.
On the positive side, it's great looking and the fabric is super soft. I think I'll like it as soon as I figure out L.L. Beans super sizing.

Fabric: Substantial without being flimsy or heavy. Smooth, soft & conforming with color true to the pictures.
Construction: All the seams appeared to be well sewen and I noticed no shoddy workmanship.
Sizing: The tall in large fits nicely. At 6'1" and 212 lbs. the length comes about mid-calf, the shoulder seam is right on the edge of my shoulder and the sleeve reaches the back of my knuckles. Turned up at the hem, the sleeve reaches where a dress shirt would hit. The robe is full enough to allow ample overlap without being too much. I did not notice any problem in the sleeve inset being too tight.
Comfort: For my size, this robe works very well as I like a longer length. The sleeve length is easily modified by simply roling the sleeve up at the hem if one wants slightly shorter length in the sleeve. Also, the robe is ample enough to wear over P.J.s in comfort. The fabric is sufficient for warmth without being bulky and could work well in both chilly environments as well as more moderate climates. For someone who keeps the house at about 56 throughout the evening, this robe works well with warm p.j.s and slippers.
Bottom Line: I'm very pleased with this robe. Great quality and fit at a reasonable price. Just the ticket for Michigan winters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Walrus747 Nice Robe - Runs Big
Fabric is warm and cosy without the bulk you get with terry robes. I like the feel of the fabric, perfect for winter. Workmanship is okay, what I expected at this price point. Sizing runs BIG. I am 5'10" 170lbs and the medium is too big really. When it's tied up the over flap almost hits the opposing belt loop. The good news is that I can gain 40 lbs without buying a new robe! Will buy again but in a small.

Quality material. 100% cotton. Durable, but not overly thick. Can be worn in all seasons I think. Monogram was done well, design of robe is simple and generous in sizing. I am 6'2" and I wear a 16/35 shirt. Thought the Medium would be too small, but no, it was perfect. Fits well. This will last.

This robe was to replace an old well loved LL Bean flannel robe. The minute I put on the new robe it cut the armpits. Compared to the same size XXL old robe, the arm hole circumference is two inches smaller.
