Rated 4 out of 5 by KaBo Nice quality
I own several of the pima cotton shirts, both long and short sleeved and really like the quality and the nice soft fabric. But like so many others find the shirts to be too short. I have a short torso, and even I have a hard time keeping the shirt tucked in. In fact some og the shirts are wider than they are long. I would love a little close fit and more lenght.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Yeti Nice Top but Thin Fabric
The fabric is more lightweight than I expected. At 5'2", 115 ibs, I usually get a Medium but got a Large to allow for shrinkage and for a loose fit.
I like a smooth look, but, this top shows every little bump or wrinkle on what one wears underneath. That is the only minus to it.
Other than that, the fabric is soft. The fit is the loose fit that I had sought. The sleeves are a tad long (probably due to it being a Large), but I'm OK with that and I figure they'll shrink with repeated washings.
I'll probably wear this top as a layer in cooler weather.

Great shirt, but... My 89 year old mother and I bought 4 different colors in medium. Original sleeve length was 24 3/4". After gentle wash/dry, faded rose's sleeves were 23 1/4", butter's were 22 3/4", herb green's were 21 1/2" and tidal blue's were 22 3/4. The back center measurement from the neck seam originally was 24". After washing, rose's was 22 1/2, butter's was 22", herb green's was 21" and tidal blue's was 21 7/8". I also measured the body 6" below the sleeve inset. All the colors except butter maintained that measurement fairly well, but the circumference of the butter shirt shrunk 2 1/2". I thoroughly agree with and applaud reviewer Rogue River whose review below was posted January 7, 2013. Bean should offer more items that have original sizing. I would love to replace my linen pants and trail pants before they fall apart, but won't unless I can get them in the original fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by outdoorsy4 it shrinks!
I received one of these shirts for a Christmas gift, but once it was washed (in gentle conditions), it is now too short in the sleeves and body. LLBean, if you can't keep it from shrinking, you need to make it longer! However, I like that the neck is not too tight.

I have bought several of these mock neck shirts over the years from LLBean and have loved them all. They used to make this also in short sleeve, but don't believe they're available anymore. Wish you'd bring those back. The only comment I have is I wish they would increase the length by an inch or two. Would like better if it was longer. Love LLBean clothing, it's well made and fits well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LIZinNOLA Great if they are in stock
I highly recommend these for quality of fabric, fit and durability. Machine wash & hang dry. No one does these better for any price. I buy Black, Navy, Brown & Dark Green + other colors to fill in. 1 each in round, stand-up and v-neck. Then buy Perfect Fit pants in all colors and you are good to go anywhere no matter what size you are! I accessorize with jewelry, scarves and jackets, + switch to cotton knit long skirts [bought elsewhere, alas!]. My only caveat: 1st time so many sizes out of stock. And until May?? As others have said PLEASE stick to classics and keep your loyal base. We don't want to settle for less!

I'm not fussy with this type of garment, but I did get it a size larger because older ones I have are too short. They don't seem to have shrunk, as i always was them in cold water and dry on low heat; I just like to make sure they stay tucked in. Fabric is soft, comfortable but I do wish it was a blend (poly and cotton ) instead of all cotton. The neck is not too tight or loose and I like that the cuffs are not elastized, just hemmed. I do think they are over- priced, I bought this one using a gift card and a reward certificate. The red color is just right - Bean could do well to add a few more brighter colors. Otherwise a recommendable item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2704 Love your Pima shirts
I've bought L.L.Bean tops (various styles and colors) for years and LOVE them!!!
Over the holidays I had our 89 year old mother try mine and she really likes them, even with 1 bad shoulder mom finds them easy to get over her head.
I have now ordered mom her own shirts of various colors.

I love the fabric, perfect for AZ winters which are usually warm.
I bought three, they wash and dry great and two fit perfect, one is a little small. Otherwise a nice shirt and I will buy more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by RogueRiver thinner fabric a disappointment
In late 2012, I ordered several long-sleeve pima shirts in different styles (turtle, mock, crew) and colors. I returned all the light colors because I didn't like (and cannot recommend) the see-through, light-weight fabric for winter. The fabric has obviously changed since I bought short-sleeve and cardigan pima styles a few seasons ago. Just as I answered a competitor's survey about pricing versus quality, I'm willing to pay more for higher quality and better features from a trusted merchant like LL Bean. However, a quick look at its current sale merchandise suggests LL Bean could afford to roll back prices and restore the quality of its classic best-sellers by stemming its losses on trendy clothes for young bodies with cool, grungy, or garish tastes that just don't fit Bean's traditional niche. Tell your marketing department to be patient: those young non-Beaner bodies will duly age enough to be grateful LL Bean never lost its groove.
