Rated 2 out of 5 by nativeplantzealot Great Jacket, Terrible Zipper
We bought this about a year ago. Zipper was "sticky" and annoying at first, but we could wiggle it closed with a bit of effort. It progressively got worse and worse, until now you cannot close it at all. Even if you can get the bottom of the zipper to engage, the minute the zip gets two inches past the bottom, the zipper teeth unmesh from the bottom, leaving you with a useless tangle. Not much good against wind or rain, if you cannot close the otherwise beautiful jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 Excellent rain jacket and soft shell
If you have kids this or something like it is a must have. My kids wear theirs on rainy days, cold days, windy days, you name it. They are running all over the place so it allows them to layer with fleece or something under. On cold days or rainy warm, it works. I've looked around for a better price, but have not been able to find anywhere. Three girls and they all have one.

Plan to use for rain as well as over fleece during winter. Looks great and well made, we have not used it too much so have not had the zipper problems few reviewers have mentioned. True to size, good buy

by ppwLarchmont Great Jacket - But, keeps breaking...
This is an amazing rain jacket! Not too hot for my boy. But, unfortunately LL Bean uses a cheap plastic at the bottom of the zipper - rending this jacket unclose-able after a couple of months (very occasional) wear. Because this piece (the bottom part that you insert into the zipper part) uses a very flimsy/cheap plastic is gets 'eaten' up after a few times. And, then you cannot zip up the jacket...
This is my 3rd that I've exchanged. Please LL Bean, improve the quality of the zipper!

This is a great jacket. It is light weight, fits easily in a day pack or school back pack and we love the coral/blue color. We bought ours one size up so that we could layer it over a fleece on rainy fall days and still have room to move around. The length is perfect and the sleeve size also covers the arms low on the wrist/upper hand. My 8 year old is tall so the size ten is perfect with some room to grow into. Great everyday accessory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HuckleberryMike Great Rain Coat
Our Daughter loves it for the color. We love it because it wicks water well and isn't as clammy as those "rubber jackets". The size 4 was a little roomy but it should give us more than a year of service. Also enough room to add a fleece or sweater when weather gets cooler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MommyMooseof3 Great for rainy and dry weather!
I bough two of these, one for my daughter(pink) and one for my older son(blue), and I love them. They love them too! Great quality! Pretty sure we will be hanging on to the blue one for when our youngest is big enough, he is only 3m now;)

Water goes straight through this coat. Wet cold unhappy child resulted. Expected better from LL Bean - this one is going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2xmom Great jacket!
This is the only rain coat my son will wear. I bought this in navy for my 6 year old when he refused to wear the rubbery raincoat he had because it made him sweat. This one is comfortable and light feeling. He wears it over a fleece or sweatshirt if it's cool, or just over a t-shirt in the summer. Acts as a windbreaker too. I'll never buy him a different raincoat again!

The mesh lining in this jacket is really scratchy. Both of my children refuse to wear this "scratchy jacket." If your children are sensitive to that sort of thing, pick another jacket.
