Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanYaker Well designed
In two weeks we have taken a 90 mile trip and an 875 mile trip including much of it on interstate highways and the carriers have worked very well. We were impressed with the overall design and the materials included with the straps to make it easy to securely fasten the kayaks while preventing damage from fasteners.

by dbgalvan Folding racks worth extra $
These racks hold the kayaks securely like they are supposed to. I love the fact they fold down so i can get in and out of the parking garage at work. They were easy to install and it is easy to get the Kayaks up on the racks with two people. One person is a bit trickier but it still doesn't take long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nightmarekitty1 Thule 835 hull a port pro
I had just bought a kayak at LLBean a few weeks ago. I thought with a pick up truck I could tie it down and it would be easy.....was I wrong.
It too 30 minutes to secure the kayak safely with cords and bungee cords. When I got home I Went on YouTube to figure out how other people tie it down. And to my surprise Thule was the item. It was short money for easy convenience. So, needless to say I went back to LLBean and purchased the Thule. The employee installed it, gave me a lesson to use it and off I went.

The Thule 835 Pro does exactly what it is designed to do. It transported our kayaks securely and safely from point A to point B. The carrier is easy to install. The use of the binding straps and tie downs are a snap, once you go through the procedure. The fold down arm on the 835 Pro is worth the extra money, as you can install, leave it for the season and not have to worry about low clearance. I have two suggestions:
1. Most people will find a small step stool handy in getting your kayak up and down from the roof of an SUV.
2. Check the tightness of the carrier screws periodically. The screws do loosen over time and distance.

We recently purchased these to bring our kayaks along for the ride- very easy to load and secure. Definitely need the bow and stern ties for stability and safety- we drove thru high winds and driving rains with little to no movement of the boats. We like the fold down capability as we can leave them on for the summer making spontanious trips more likely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rancher4X4 A must have for transporting 3+ Yaks
Have to get the Hull A Port pro over std or you will have to remove them to get SUV in garage when not in use. I use two sets to carry three Kayaks, just put one in between and strap to X bars.

Took us less than 5 minutes to take off and lock In the trunk. When collapsed it fits into a low ceiling. Definitely worth the few extra $.
