Rated 5 out of 5 by MandR Waterproof and airy
Tried this tent in two nights of hard rain and thunderstorms and it held up with no worries. I did buy the footprint and highly recommend it. The fly easily kept the tent dry yet surprisingly allowed a nice air flow through the tent. The size is great for two plus gear. My only qualm with the tent is that the windows on the doors cannot zip closed for privacy when the fly is off. My old LL Bean tent had that and it was a nice feature. My last Bean tent last me over 20 years and I'm confident this one will too!

It looks small, but fits many. Used it my first time camping. It was easy to set up and put away as well. Sheltered 4 people and all the bags we brought with us.

Rated 1 out of 5 by mlarson No Air Flow
I like the roominess of this tent but am very dissatisfied with the overall use. If you do not apply the rainfly you can see in the windows so there is no privacy. The rain fly blocks the windows so there is privacy, but there is no air flow thru the tent. You can open the front but not the back, and the sides do not open. In warm weather I find this tent unusable. I also have to say I cannot believe anyone ever gets the rainfly back in the stuff sack provided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CasualCamperMan A great 4 man dome style tent.
I'm a 63 yrs old man who likes warm weather tent camping and who recently took a 6.5 week camping trip through New England in July and August. I started my trip with another brand of tent, a little used 4 man dome tent that I paid about $130.00 for a few yrs ago. But after 3 weeks of camping on this trip, the fiber glass poles started shredding like string cheese and that tent quickly became unusable. I was near Freeport Maine, so I stopped in the LLBean flagship store. I told the employee who helped me that I wanted a 4 man dome style tent that I could stand up in, to change clothes easily, and a tent that would be durable and protect me from the elements while on casual camping trips in National, State and private campgrounds along my trip route. I also wanted the tent to be easy for one man to set up and a tent that would have strong aluminum poles. The LLBean employee recommended the Vector XL 4. I've been very satisfied after using it for 3.5 weeks. It's easy for one man to set up, taking about 10-15 minutes. Other campers commented on how quickly I was able to take it down and pack it in my car trunk. It's a roomy, durable, fast drying tent and will give me and my 2 adult brothers plenty of room for sleeping, if I can convince them to go with me on my next camping trip. The tent fly covers the basic tent thoroughly and gives excellent protection from the elements, while allowing great ventilation for comfortable sleeping in warm summer weather. If winter camping is in my plans, I'll investigate a separate LLBean tent for enhanced warmth capability.

This tent is AMAZING! Just got back from a 5 day trip to the U.P on Lake Superior and I could not be happier with my decision to buy the LLbean Vector! It rained 4 outta the 5 days and this tent not only didn't leake a drop but also held up to winds in access of 40mph!! EASY to set up and lots of space for my raised queen mattress and gear!! Perfect tent!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Taegot The best tent your money can buy
I bought 4 Vextor XL 4 Person Tents in 2009 and they are all in good condition. I use them for a youth group that camps twice a year. They have been through 2 bad rain storms with hail, strong winds and have performed very well. I was concerned about the plastic clips on the rainfly but they have proven to be quite durable. The tents sleep four teenage boys comfortably with their camping equipment. Setup is easy and the tent packs away in a medium package that requires little space to store.
As our club grows I'm planning to add more to our collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Xfactr Love it!
Since my son has joined Cub Scouts I thought it would be great to head out in a father-son outing. I haven't slept in a tent for almost 20 years. I did my research and decided to get something From LL Bean. Bought my Vector XL - 4 man the summer of 2011 and used it twice that summer. Spacious for me and my two young sons and very simple to put together by myself. We haven't camped in adverse weather so I cannot comment on how it handles mother nature. Well all I can say is I look forward to camping this summer. Heck I'm writing this review on my IPad in the tent in our backyard while the boys are sleeping.
Great product to say the least!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MTNLovers Excellent Tent!
We used this tent for the first time last weekend and loved it! It was easy to put up and we were very comfortable in it. It rained and we stayed dry. The vestibule was great for keeping our firewood, chairs, and boots out of the rain.

I've had my blue version of the Vector 4 XL for a few years now. I bought it mainly to use on boy scout camp outs and it has performed flawlessly. It's everything my old tent wasn't.
There is plenty of room for me and my "Stuff". I like to keep a chair inside to read at night and hang towels and clothes on to dry. That plus storage and room for me to sleep and it works out great. OR room for my wife to join me and plenty of our stuff. It has kept up dry during monsoon like winds and rain. The vestibule is great for wet or muddy shoes or things that don't belong IN the tent but you need nearby.
I would make the storage bag a bit larger to make repacking it in easier. But other than that it has all the features that I need. I average around 14 days per year in it and camp in my popup when not with the scouts.
