We love this jacket and the regular one. The only drawback is the fleece in the sleeve is too sticky and makes sliding arms through a bit cumbersome. However, we ( I and my almost 7 year old) like it enough to work around that. I may even have the sleeve lined with additional satiny material. :)

I ordered this jacket for my 6 year old to use on a trip to Alaska this summer but he has been wearing it almost everyday since it came. Love the bright orange color and reflectors. It is totally waterproof. We get compliments on it everywhere we go?

We live in Vancouver, BC (similar weather to Seattle). We have had lots of trouble finding a reasonably priced, waterproof, breathable, warmish coat for our wet winters. This coat is fabulous! We've used them for the past three years for all three of our kids (4, 7 and 9 years) . The kids like them and they wear them for most of the year. We just add an extra layer underneath if it gets really cold. The jackets have been especially good for cross country skiing as the kids stay dry in the snow or rain and don't get all sweaty. One request: We would really like some darker colors for girls. The orange jacket seemed fine, but the pink jacket tended to show dirt over time.

My son is very picky about when it comes to jackets. With this, he actually wears it! It helps that he can use it when it's raining and keeps him warm too! I like the elasticized hood so it stays it place.

This is the second jacket I've purchased for my grandson in the same color, the first one he out grew and I love it! It wears so well and looks brand new wash after wash after wash. There isn't anything I don't like about the jacket and I will continue to purchase his jackets thru LLBean!

My son loves this jacket and we're pretty big fans of it too. Love the long length, esp the back; the orange color is great, esp when we need to find him in crowds; the reflectors are a nice touch. My son really likes the soft fleece. We bought it on the large size so he can wear it for 2 years.
He's only worn it in mild weather, mostly in the high 40s or 50s, so I don't know if it would be warmer in colder weather. The fleece is pretty thin so we haven't bothered to try it.
Our one complaint, and it's been mentioned by a couple of other reviewers, is that the sleeves are difficult to get on. The sleeves are fleece-lined and bunch up and push out past the wrists when trying to put it on. My son gets very frustrated with them, esp when he's in a rush, as is often the case.
Also, I do find this coat to be on the pricey side when full priced. I should have waited until there was a 10-20% off sale.

Waterproof outside, soft fleece inside. This coat is the new favorite coat of my 5-year-old during this chilly spring in Wisconsin.
