Rated 3 out of 5 by HikeVermont Belt OK, but...
I received this belt on-time, but it did not meet my expectations (high) for a LL product. It was stiff and the materials appeared inferior for a lifetime of use (quality of leather, stitching). LL was very accommodating (as always) and were quick to refund me. I still love LL Bean, but not this belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beanfield The Right Belt!
I took a close look at the belt my husband said was "just broken in" and instantly went to LLBean to find a new one. This is a GREAT belt. I ordered his waist size, it arrived and he said it should have been 2" larger to be correct. So, I called and reordered and returned and finally got the right belt. He really likes it and put the old one on yardwork jeans.
Thanks LLBean, for making the clothes that are dependably great.

This belt is sturdy and flexible. I like the 1 3/8" width. For me the 1 1/4" is too narrow and sometimes a 1 1/2" is too wide. This belt's width is perfect. I will have to wait some time to see how resilient it is. Overall, it appears to be of an excellent quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CapeCodretiree Too classy
My husband desperately needed a new belt but hates to shop. He tried a few on at a discount store and looked at some in a catalog. Finally I saw LL Bean's Katahdin belt and after reading reviews, showed him the picture. He agreed to try it. When it came and he tried it on, he tried to take it off when I said it looked "classy". Too late, the old belt was already in the trash!
Now, after wearing it, he admits it is "doing alright." It is doing great by me!

Well, it's a great belt. My dog wants to eat it, that's my emergency meal though. Guess I'll have it with *LL Beans* tumbleweeds

Well made casual belt but width is a little wider than I anticipated; should have measured. Sizing (length) is correct and style is perfect for casual slacks, jeans, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sheboygan Follow Bean's Size Instructions
I read many reviews on these belts and determined that I needed to order the size I would normally buy - a 34 (I have a 32 waist). However, Bean's instructions say to order your normal waist size and they are correct! Now, I have to go through the return process.
For reference, the size 34 belt measures 35 inches from the bar in the buckle to the center hole. In other words, they up-size the belt to account for your pants thickness & whatever shirt you have tucked in. That gives you a range of 33 inches to 37 inches from the size 34 belt from all five holes. Way too big for my 32 inch waist.
Otherwise they are very nice quality- not too stiff and nice rich colors- both the brown and black. The contrast stitching looks great and as one reviewer noted, the width is 1-1/2 inches, not 1-3/8 per Bean's description, and the buckle is 2-1/8 across the width.
I look forward to getting the replacement 32 inch versions.

Not as thick or heavily stitched as a couple of heavy belts I have had from some other quality brands. Still a very good belt that will outlast your favorite jeans . Well made and good looking , a great casual everyday belt . My job requires a lot of weight and stress on my belt ,so this belt will probably not be used for work. It will see a lot of use camping , hunting ,and working / lounging around the house.
