This is a great belt. My only problem is Bean's lack of consistent standards in sizing. A couple of months ago I ordered a belt from Bean. At this time I ignored their advice to order the same size as my waist and ordered one size larger. When this order arrived I had more belt than needed and had to make alterations. This time I ordered the same size as my waist, per the site sizing advice, and found the belt length lacking. The result was my having to fork over $6.50 to return the belt for the correct size. All this could have been avoided by Bean requiring belt manufacturers to use standard sizing when producing their belts. Bottom line: FOR THIS BELT ORDER ONE SIZE LARGER THAN YOUR WAIST SIZE.

This is a good, strong belt. The only reason I gave it a 4 was that it lacks an extra hole or two

I bought this belt for my hubby 'cause he needed one BADLY!! His response was, "I don't need a belt". He hates change but as soon as he wore this one for a day or two he really liked the way it fit and held up his pants. As you know, older men end up with no butt. Well this belt does the job 'cause he's not quite ready for suspenders. The price was a bit high but the quality made it worth it. He should have this one for a very long time.
I purchased the size larger due to other comments but ended up exchanging it for his usual size.

Outstanding quality & construction. Not to mention its rugged good looks. Unlike some people, I found the sizing to be accurate.

The iron works belt is made of high quality leather. I have several of these belts and they last a very long time. I would recommend this belt to any body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim09987342 Very nice belt
I read a few negative reviews before buying, but I'm happy with my purchase. I was afraid that all that stitching would look gaudy, but that is not the case at all.
I wear 35" L.L. Bean jeans so I bought the 36" belt. The buckle is on the third hole from the end of the belt end and is very comfortable. If I had to tuck in a heavy shirt, the buckle may need to be in the second hole. I might have been okay with a 38" belt but it would probably have more belt hanging out than necessary (though the belt is rigid enough that it wouldn't be "hanging".)

This belt is well made and looks great. Finally had to retire my last Bean belt that i had for at least 24 years. I hope this one will last as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by YankeeWalker Ruggedly handsome
This belt is masculine and stout, but, it is neither gaudy nor crudely made as many other belts are that I'd apply those first two adjectives to. I'd call this one ruggedly handsome, and quite like it. It can work with khakis, jeans, or outdoorsy shorts...

Sturdy, attractive, quality belt as expected from LL Bean. Belts seem to run a bit small,so, order one size larger.
