Rated 5 out of 5 by NEtoMW Comfortable and attractive casual top
I have a number of these (some boatneck, but most 1/4 zip) and they are one of my 'go to' items. I like the comfort and ease of these shirts. They are a great spring or fall item. Easy to care for, wash easily, fold easily. Nice alternative to a light fleece. I wear a medium in these as I generally do in all articles shown as 'slightly fitted'. Am 5' 8" and sleeves are long enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Officekat Great product.
This is a great product. What others call shortcomings are actually its pluses: it's not super soft but the weave is tight and it does not pill at all, The thread lines are clean and straight, Colors held up really well through a couple of gentle washes (I got the navy and white). I'm 5'4, 125, weight in my hips. The small fits really well in the shoulders, it's long enough, the sleeves are just right and I can fit a T-shirt underneath.
I can only hope that this style, material and workmanship stays around so that I can count on it year after year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by UsuallyHappyCamper Sleeves too short
I really love the look of this top, but sitting here eating breakfast, wearing it for the first time, I'm realizing the sleeves are too short by about 1-2 inches. Rats!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spots Comfy
Love this shirt. The fit runs a bit more fitted and I did go up a size as I like a relaxed fit. The shoulders still fit, so it does not seem too large and I have room for a cami on colder days. I have worn this several times and each time I get compliments on the pretty sienna color. I just went back and got another color. Comfy shirt for the not quite spring weather. Washes well. I just put it in the dryer to get some of the moisture out and then hang damp. No issues with shrinkage or color bleed/fade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Scoutpenny I like these a lot but....
I own 3 of these shirts and like them. However I wish they were a little longer in body length and I wish the material was softer. That said, I usually wear a tank underneath them or a cotton cami anyway...but still the material is a bit weird for cotton.
These are great for cooler weather and since I am not a sweatshirt fan, these usually do the trick. I am about to order the gray and white stripe to add to my collection. One of my old ones has gotten a bit dingy so I'm replacing it with this new one. PS I am 5'6" and weigh about 125 pounds and the medium is perfect.

My 1st LL Bean top. I Love it! Excellent quality. I bought the pink with navy stripes. It is so pretty. I love the zipper, the stripes are just the right widths, the high collar keeps my neck warm in a/c rooms!
I read the reviews and ordered the medium. The relaxed fit is perfect on me.
Thank you LL Bean.
More tops with interesting features like zippers and laces, please!

Rated 2 out of 5 by OldtimeCamper Tight Neckline! Threads Unravel too easily
I always buy the 3/4 Sleeve Boatneck styles but thought I'd try one that had the long sleeves and zip up neck. I haven't worn it much, as the neck is very tight where the stitching is.... seems the thread doesn't want to stretch the same amount as the fabric does. I may end up returning it.
Also one of my pet peeves with all the styles of French Sailor Shirts that I've purchased is that the threads come undone on the sleeve edges or waistband.... like none of the seamstresses do a back stitch to lock the threads before cutting them off. This shirt was the worst! I have about a foot of thread hanging on the waist band that I have to try and fix... and that was just from a gentle washing! We shouldn't have to tack the edges before laundering or use FrayCheck glue so it doesn't unravel in the wash.

Rated 2 out of 5 by texasnana8 Now what I thought
I ordered this and the 3/4 sleeve top. Both are the same fabric. The fabric was not soft. It was coarse and irritating. Not the soft knit I am accustomed to from LL Bean. I sent both back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by VIRev Too short
I bought this pullover and the boatneck version at the same time. The fabric is wonderful - thick and non-clingy, as the other reviewers have mentioned. But the similarity ends. This one was so short I felt uncomfortable - if I raised my arms my 55 year old chubby belly was revealed (a very bad thing for a teacher), and it got shorter with each wash. The boatneck version feels like a different fabric and I have worn it to death! It's one of my very favorite tops. I'd feel bad exchanging now, but wish I had when it was newer...
