Rated 3 out of 5 by Slievardagh Arch support and lining
I bought a pair of Men's Allagash Bison Handsewns, Oxford a few years ago and I loved the appearance and the soft leather.
I found a couple of problems. The main one being poor arch support. The inside sole felt almost flat. After some time I got accustomed to that but I did reduce my use of the shoes. I do believe this is a design flaw that should be addressed.
The second problem was that the lining on the sole and the heel became detached after some time. The lining on the sole loosened and would move around when I walked. The heel lining actually developed rips and basically the shoes although still in good condition on the outside were no longer usable. I am looking for shoes of the same type and wonder if either of these problems have been addressed in the recent past.

What I received looked little like the picture: matte mocha-colored leather , very poor quality spongy sole and without a removable insole. Not much better than Kmart .

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeLUX I have two pair of these and love them
I have two pair (I purchased the first pair over a year ago and the second pair 6 months ago) and I love them. I have a wide foot and they fit perfectly. I wore out the sole and heel on one pair and had new soles and heels put on because I like the shoes so much. The fit is true to size, the bison leather wears like iron yet gets softer with time. These shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Liquidfusion Amazing Walking Shoes!!!!
These are the best leather walking shoes - leather fits and forms very well to your foot. Danger!!! Soles wear out too fast. On a rainy day recently, almost slipped walking into a supermarket down an entrance ramp - and by the greatest luck balanced the fall landing on my feet!!!! Missed having a very serious accident. On non rainy days you are safe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SFFan Great shoes except fast wearing soles
As others have pointed out the soles are too soft. The soles of my shoes worn daily, wore completely through in a half year but the shoes were so comfortable I sprung for a Vibram re-sole job for $80 from a local shoemaker.
I am not sorry I did.
They are still the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn but now the soles are firm and TOUGH, and I have a virtual new pair of great shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLB3Poodles Very attractive looking and comfortable
They are very comfortable from day one. My feet are somewhat wider, but size 8 EE fits me perfectly. The traditional design is attractive, and the leather is beautiful in colour and grain. Excellent!

Rated 2 out of 5 by nocodlb nice upper, but sole wears out too quickly
I wear these mainly during the day at a desk job, with very little walking. I drive 90 minutes a day, 5 days a week. The outer rear heal of the right shoe is worn to nearly a 45 degree angle--just from the carpet mat of the car--just from the rocking action of exercising the gas pedal and brake pedal. The leather is fantastic looking and great wearing. But the soles are too soft wearing out with light use within a year. So only buy this shoe if you don't mind replacing them every year.
Also note the length runs long. I normally wear a 10 1/2 or sometimes an 11, and I had to order a 10 in these shoes. Width seems to be normal sizing.

The sole lasted only 6 months before it was nearly gone. Would not buy shoe until the sole is changed. Probably should have returned them for a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FitnessCelebrity Comfortable all day, but the sole wears quickly
I have tried most every brand of slip-on moccasin and these are a great choice for everyday wear to work. Their lined interior doesn't work well if you like to wear them without socks; they are a dressier choice. But for business casual work environments they look great and I get compliments on their handsome, textured appearance.
My one disappointment is that I seem to be wearing the soles down quickly. I've had these shoes since Christmas, wear them frequently, and am already smoothing out the lugged sole. Maybe I need to stop loving them so much?
