Rated 3 out of 5 by jelinkster White stitching detracts
The shoes are holding up fine, and I like their design, but the white stitching---for me, at least---detracts from their overall appearance. I would have preferred brown or black stitching.(I've tried polishing , but the stitches reappear within a few days.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hoge Handsome shoe, soft feel, great value
I bought a pair of size 13 Wide about six weeks ago. The photo makes the leather look a bit lighter than it actually is... And I prefer the slightly darker color. The fit and feel are exceptional, much better than other shoes that I paid 2x - 3x as much for and gave away to my brothers or nephew shortly after purchase because they just did not feel good after an hour or so. I wear these LLBean bison oxfords to my office -- they look great with dress khakis. Overall, very pleased with this purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by SFFan Perfect fit
I have had these shoes for 6 months and have literally never taken them off. I am on the third set of heels and that speaks for itself. They are literally the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, right out of the box, requiring no breaking in. Bean shoe size is reliable and refreshingly consistent. I have worn the same Bean shoe size for over 40 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snakeman My favorite shoes !!
I have had my Bison Oxfords for almost two years now. They are my most comfortable and favorite shoe. They fit perfect right out of the box and needed no break in period. I have worn them with jeans and khakis and in all kinds of weather and terrain...no problem at all. The soles are wearing a bit however not to the point of negatively effecting the shoe. Plan to purchase a pair of the chukkas for the winter months. Highly recommend the Allagash Bison Oxfords !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DoubleEagle Bottoms wear out before the tops
I've had 2 pair for 13 months. I alternate pairs every other day and walk about 3 miles at lunch time most work days. Soles have gotten to the point where I'm starting to slip on wet surfaces. So I'll be ordering 2 more pairs and tossing the old one. I'm figuring that the minimum distance walked was ~400 miles on paved surfaces for each pair and I've gotten my moneys worth. Tops are still looking good. The previous two pairs I had only lasted < 6 months - so I returned them for free exchange. I always feel a little guilty when I do a return but then I realize I'm providing valuable feedback on quality issues to LL Bean when I do a return. It looked like there was a change in the sole material between the < 6 months and 13 month shoes. I usually wear 10 1/2 but found these shoes at 10 worked better for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 Good shoe, bad soles
I have had a pair of these shoes for about a year and a half. The shoes are comfortable, and the leathers have lasted. The sole has worn out and to replace the sole it cost $75.00, almost as much as the shoe. I like the shoe but hate the soles. For the price they should last longer than they have, especially when I only wear them occasionally.

These are perhaps the most comfortable shoes ever from the moment my feet met them. They look nice too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MountainGoat9 Great Leather, Soft Soles
These shoes are comfortable and well made. However, the soles don't last long. I have now bought 2 pairs, and each time the soles were completely worn within 2 years with normal, daily use (I don't use these shoes for long walks). They are advertised as "leather that stubbornly resist wear". True. But this does not matter if the soles are gone within 2 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jzami Runs small
For starters, these are wonderful shoes. Well-made and sturdy. The sole is a bit soft, but it's also a bit thick, so I think even with a some wear they'll have plenty of life. My issue is with size. They run small by about a half size. Also, don't expect them to "break in" as you would expect. Remember, I said they were sturdy. At least they lace up so you have a bit of control over fit.
Minus 1 star because they may be a bit too sturdy and a bit too small.
