Rated 5 out of 5 by SunbeltGirl Comfortable, attractive and my husband love's them!
I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He absolutely loves them! Right out of the box, he put them on and he kept remarking about how comfortable they were. The colors are very nice and there was no need to break them in. They are true to his size. And they stay tied! It's difficult to buy shoes for someone much less buy them online. But these shoes were a winner! In fact, every time he wears them, he comments about how comfortable they are. They are a very quality shoe. The stitching is nice and the leather is very soft too. Thank you L.L. Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beemerguy Comfortable and broken-in right out of the box!
I love these shoes! They are well-made, stylish, and very comfortable right out of the box, and require no real break-in. The color and texture of the leather is very nice, and they compare quite favorably with shoes costing much more. They have quickly become my favorite shoe for almost any occasion. For those to whom such things matter, they are made in Central America rather than the Far East. I can recommend them without reservation... :-)

Rated 2 out of 5 by BobMaryland Great shoe, Poor Soles
I loved this shoe at first. It fits nicely, is extremely comfortable.
BUT, and this is a big BUT...the soles wear out at about the 1 year mark without fail. I have had two pairs (to their credit Bean replaced the first pair without question) and both pairs did exactly the same thing. I can't ask them in all honesty to replace the shoe again but I won't buy another and I can't recommend them. Soft soles. I have previous shoes of Beans like these and they lasted for years. Something wrong with the sole material.

I bought a pair of these shoes and the similar boots and enjoyed them immensely. LL Bean does not resole these but assured me it could be done. I went to our local cobbler and he told me it would cost $75 to resole. Not economical based on shoes original cost.
I would highly recommend and purchase another pair if and only if LL Bean introduced a longer lasting sole.

Got the shoes and I was surprised at the degree of two toned and difference of the textured leather. The leather lining was only half a lining, and was of very thin leather, possibly goat, toughbut not known for it's absorbency. After only two seasons of wear, the shoes have lost their shape and appear to half stretched to a sloppy fit unless worn with thick socks. The arch support is minimal. They aren't my first pair of bison leather footwear, having owned over a half dozen or more of various types over the years, so I know what I should get for my money. They will last for a while, the soles aside, but they will be relegated to back up or very casual shoes very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Surffisher I'd wear them to bed if my wife would let me!
Oh my! Looks like it's time to re-order another pair, after three years. Tops are perfect, heels are showing serious wear. after heavy use in all kinds of weather. Too bad they can't be resoled. Is there a special ceremony for burial?

I have an 11 EE foot. I'm 6'1 and 225 lbs and over a half century old. I use these shoes for work , business travel, and leisure. I purchased my first pair about a year and a half ago. I needed something to travel overseas in which would work on all occassions except formal. They had to be functional, durable, comfortable, and yet business casual. When traveling, I walk a lot. Four to six miles a day. These meet the requirements. The only thing I would change is the soles. Seems if you wear them 4 days a week on average. After a year and half, they wear down. I am going to see if they can be resoled, but that is 30 - 40 dollars if the shop could do it. And, yet a new pair on sale is about 80.

Arguably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned or worn. The fit is perfect and the bison leather conformed to the shape of my foot after only a few wearings. The shoes look good and, most importantly, feel great.
