Rated 2 out of 5 by BRTraveler COLOR IS NOT ACCURATE!
I've had a pair of these for years and gotten great service from the shoes. When the heels started wearing out I took mine in for resole and ordered another pair since I'd had such great luck with the shoes. The new ones arrived and are NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTO. Customer service noted that there is a warning on the website now regarding color and offered to send a hand picked replacement with the most variance. I could then return either or both if not acceptable for color. Great service LLB!-hopefully the replacement pair will have more variation between leathers. If not, I need to determine if comfort trumps appearance-these are really comfortable shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeLUX I have 2 pair of these and love them
The fit is great, leather conforms to foot, they are 2 years old and look like new. I highly recommend these shoes.

I bought a pair of these many years ago. After many years of wearing them to work every day teaching, and my feet all day, on concrete floors, I treated myself to another pair. I still have them but, just in case you ever stop making them, ( I don't know why you would), I have another pair still in the box. These are the best fitting shoes ever. I had no problem wearing them all day from day one. Keep them coming!

The soles are too soft, they wear too fast. Need a better performing sole.

This is my second pair and definitely not my last. An excellent, solid-feeling shoe that is comfortable to walk in. They are rugged looking so may not be suitable for formal occasions for some people but I still wear them anyways.

Rated 4 out of 5 Two-tone coloring is not as shown
Great shoes. Just bought my second pair. Besides comfort, the biggest appeal was the beautiful two-tone coloring. I bought Raisin.
Sad to say, the coloring of the new pair is not at all what the first pair was, and not as shown on the website. Rather they are a uniform brown. Not nearly as good looking.
And, yes, the soles do wear out very quickly.
L.L. Bean ... please update your web-site to show a photo that correctly represents the true coloring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 47yrbeaner Great for light hiking,travel- quite comfortable
I have two pair of these shoes which I wear practically every day. They are very comfortable and are respectable looking for travel (they beat cluncky white running shoes hands down.)
Also great for light hiking and general use. Both pair fit like the proverbial glove. If I had an office might wear them there occasionally.
I got my newer pair recently for travel, and while I was gone the older pair was being resoled. Fortunately we still have a real cobbler around here - a valuable resource. Recommend highly, but I have suggested to LL Bean that they provide more sturdy laces for these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Asmo Best shoes
I was initially skeptical when I got these shoes. The first time wearing them, they were a bit stiff and uncomfortable. A year later, and they're as comfortable as any sneakers while still looking amazing.
So far, they're holding up very well for wearing in the office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Aardvark44 Bean Quality at its Best!
I'm in my late sixties and have realized two things about my feet: they are getting larger and they are getting sorer. My size 12s were too small and hurt my feet, so I needed to find a comfortable good looking size 13 casual shoe. Having had good luck with LLBean shoes in the past, I went shopping on its website.
The subject shoes arrived last week, and I tried them on immediately. It was amazing! The fit and support were awesome and they felt already broken in. It was like putting on my favorite old walkabouts.
The shoes cost $109.00, on the higher end for Bean, but when you closely look at the quality of the bison leather and the flawless stitching, you realize that comparable non-Bean shoes would probably sell in the $149.00 to $169.00 range.
This shoe is a definite must buy if you're in the market for a high quality casual shoe. If and when these ever wear out, I would replace them with the exact same shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Coozy MUCH better look than picture!
I'm writing this review while the feeling I had when I opened the box is fresh on my mind. At first sight I immediately thought this is one of the most well crafted shoes that I've seen in a long, long, long time. The hand stitches, that cannot be seen in the picture, adds a very distinctive look to this shoe. I will be giving a follow up review later, but for now, the shoe fits very good and the look is outstanding.
