I've only had to use this a few times when hiking, but a couple more in camp after backpacking, i call it my lucky poncho because it seems to keep the rain away, LOL. It's large enough to put over your backpack and it doubles as a tarp if you ever want to try ultra lightweight backpacking. It is a little bit long when hiking, but I just lift it up in the front as I walk. Mind you, I'm only 5' 1", so it may not be too long for a taller person. I was caught in the rain at camp a couple of times, and I was grateful for that length! The beauty of it is that it's so lightweight and packs down small. If you get cold, you can wear a coat underneath when at camp. I just can't say how much I love this poncho!

Loved everything about this item; material, weight, comfort and versatility . But it was huge on me. Even with backpack , it was much too long. Had to return it.

Biggest poncho yet. Stuffs nice in it's own bag. Great quality. Going to Wales this month to rent a canal boat and the helm as no top to keep me dry so this poncho should do the trick.

This poncho was used during a heavy rain.and worked well. It is light and easily packs back into its storage bag.
The only negative is that I am 5'5" and this came down to my ankles... It kept me dry but I had to be careful not to trip over it.

This poncho replaces my previous poncho (same style) which eventually wore out and didn't keep me dry anymore. While it lasted (several years of use every rainy day) it was a godsend since I bike daily for transportation in NYC. The only thing is that is was very long and got caught in the bike mechanisms, so I tied together the two bottom ends on each of the sides to keep the poncho at thigh/knee level. Also, the arms are not that long if you are riding a bike so they slide above the level of my wrist (I am only 5'4"). But this is a great product to cover a backpack in the rain. Highly recommend it. (except that it eventually wore out?but to be expected I suppose)

I have been looking for this type of rain poncho for some time. Found it near perfect for carrying a pack or other bags underneath. My only complaint is that I am finding some of the side snaps pop open when I am trying to shift my bags or put it on or off. Nothing serious, but I would prefer them a little more difficult to open. This is my only complaint. Every other thing about it is exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WaltB New take on an old idea.
I used my poncho for the first time today. It takes up very little space in my sling (day) pack. It works very well in the rain. It is cooler than my goretex rain coat. It keeps most of your legs dry. I haven't used a poncho in years. This one is very well designed. I like it.

This poncho kept me and my gear dry. I never got too hot under it, great ventilation. I even used it as a quick "blanket" to lay on. It also seemed to stay pretty clean considering being on the ground at times.

I used to have a poncho like this but after 20+ years I had to get a new one. I looked and looked until I finally found this one. It keeps me dry and is roomy enough to wear my pack keeping it dry also. Love it!

On Sunday before a trip to Rwanda I ordered the poncho. To my amazement someone answered my email and recommended express mail to make sure the poncho arrived in time......This was on midnight on Sunday. I was stunned and very impressed. The poncho arrived two days later and I used it. It did not rain hard but I was completely dry. Thank you for such amazing service.
