I have owned this watch for six months. It is tough and waterproof. When I set it to the atomic clock, it remains accurate to within less than five seconds per month. I often scuff watch crystals, but this one is tough and has remained pristine. The luminous hands and markers are extremely easy to read at night. This is one of the few tritium watches with a luminous marker on the second hand. Compared to the Luminox watches that I have owned, the L.L. Bean watch is less expensive, more attractive and seems to be of the same high quality. I recommend this to anyone who wants an attractive, high quality watch that is readable in the dark.

I purchased a self-illuminating field watch in 2010. It kept great time, I only had to change the battery once, it has a comfortable leather band and a great look.About the third week of March 2013, the second hand fell off.I loved the watch so I called LL Bean to have it repaired. They gave me a new watch!!! Id go w/the WATCH & LL BEAN !

This is a great watch. I have had it for a year and like it more every day. It keeps great time and is easy to read day or night. I have several other watches, most of which cost multiples of this one, and this has become my favorite. I highly recommend it.

"Form follows function design" always seems to make for the best products and this field watch is a perfect example.
It's easy to read in any light, even total darkness. The case is stainless steel which is a must for resisting corrosion from salt water and perspiration. Experience has proved to me that other types of metal cases will quickly deteriorate. The case finish is satin, not shiny, so you don't get blinded by sun flashes off the watch. It's the perfect size so you can get shirt sleeves over it. It's not a heavy, bulky watch so it wears well. And, or course it keeps excellent time. All these features together make this my watch of choice for the field, or city.

I wanted a watch that I could read without my reading glasses but wasn't huge on my wrist. I was also looking for something that I could easily read at night. After doing some internet research, I found that tritium tubes were excellent for night viewing. Many tritium tubed watches are very large and also more expensive than this watch.
I can read the watch without my glasses and it's very easy to see in the dark. It fits my wrist fine and is comfortable to wear. It's easy to set and it's guaranteed by LL Bean.
I'm very happy with my purchase.

high quality watch for durability (numerous times droped)
and no scratches and still very accurate as good as new.
style is high quality looking watch and better than some
similar type divers style, looks sharp, outstanding size, fine
for work, travel, play, see in the dark dial 10/10, good
on ship also at night, boating, fishing, you name it.
this is the best all around ll bean watches i've purchased
and i've got field to pocket watches. sincerely the face
dial only comes in black which i like, but come up with
some other colors and i'll buy another one.......

Watch performs exactly as described. It's the best glow in the dark analog watch I have owned with an easy to read dial. The watchband is extraordinarily comfortable. Highly recommend this watch.

This is a great watch, bought it after returning a new field watch which had such small hands it was difficult to tell the time. This watch is great, keeps time and is readable in any kind of light. My only complaint is the price. Over $100 more than the field watch. Seems like ever since LL Bean began offering free shipping to everyone the price hikes have been quite steep.

I really love the form and function of this watch. The fit and finish is nice and it's not a bulky watch, which I prefer. The leather band is really nice and it doesn't dry out when it gets wet, fresh or salt water. One major complaint I have is with the band clasps that hold the excess strap down. The are sown in and not very securely. I've lost two so far from coming un-sewn. You really have to replace the whole band when this happens. If they could correct this issue I'd love the watch. The best factor about it is the illuminating features. You can be in a dark movie theatre and easily tell what time it is. The tritium never stops glowing.
