Important Safety Recall

Dear Valued L.L.Bean Customer,

We are writing today to remind you of an important recall. Our records show that you may have purchased or received an L.L.Bean Wicked Cozy Heated Blanket or Throw. The manufacturer, Berkshire Blanket, has advised L.L.Bean of a product safety recall affecting specific batches of blankets and throws sold by L.L.Bean after September 5, 2022. There is a possibility that the electrical components on these products may overheat, which may pose a risk of serious injury.

For your safety, please immediately stop using the heated blanket and/or throw.

If you have an L.L.Bean Wicked Cozy Heated Blanket or Throw (L.L.Bean item number 507158 Heated Blanket Full/Queen, 507159 Heated Blanket Twin, 507160 Heated Blanket King, or 512167 Heated Throw) that was purchased after August 1, 2022, please review the below recall information from Berkshire Blanket, follow the instructions to find the tracker number on your product to determine whether it is affected by the recall, and if so, submit your information to Berkshire for a refund. As noted by Berkshire, not all products sold are covered by this recall, so it is important to identify the tracking number applicable to your blanket to determine if it is covered:

The voluntary recall affects only products from specific batches that can be identified by the tracker number that is printed on the wash label affixed to the throws and blankets. To determine if your throw or blanket is affected, please find the wash label and look for the last 5 characters of the tracker number.

If the last 5 characters of the tracker number on your throw or blanket are included in the list below, your product is affected.

If you do not see the last 5 digits of your tracker number listed in the chart above, then your unit is not affected and you do not need to complete a registration or destroy your throw or blanket. If you have any questions about whether your throw or blanket is affected, please contact the recall toll-free (888-359-4662) number before proceeding.

You may alternatively return the recalled product to an L.L.Bean store or through the mail. If returning by mail, please contact us by phone (800-555-9717) or email ( prodsupport@llbean.com) for assistance obtaining a return shipping label. Upon receipt of the recalled item, we will process a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer an exchange at this time.

If you purchased this product as a gift, please pass on this information to the recipient or contact us and we will send this letter to the gift recipient.
