I loved the coat but after my dog wore it for less than a week I noticed he was chafing at the very top of both legs. He has very very very short hair and the coat was wearing away his fur when he walked. I have to return to, otherwise I loved it. He did look really cute and we received loads of compliments. I included a photo of his right side so you can see the chafing. I think offering a version of this jacket with some kind fleece or faux fleece lining would prevent the chafing. FYI, my dog is 65 pounds and he is very lean for his size. He is a pit bull mix.

After shopping on the web and reading reviews for a similar item that I had purchased elsewhere in the past for my two previous Labs, I selected this LL Bean Field Coat for Dogs because of the higher quality. I wanted her to have one with her own name embroidered on it that I could use in really cold weather when there is falling rain or snow. I like the look, the ease of putting it on her, and the presence of the pocket on the back. I do wish that the coat had reflective strips on it for night walks, though.

I purchased the Large for my 55 lb. coon hound. I measured carefully and thought the Large would be more than large enough for him. The straps around his belly just barely overlapped and were not secure when he was running. I purchased the XL which fit much better around his belly; it's a little big, but I will keep the XL because it is so adorable and keeps him warm.

My Lab has seasonal alopecia, meaning huge swaths of his already thin hair fall out, unfortunately in the winter. This coat is perfect for cold, windy days. It covers him from collar to tail and the adjustable velcro belly band keeps it from shifting around.
Because earlier reviews warned that it runs small, I ordered the large and it's perfect for him. He's on the slight side for a lab -- about 60 pounds -- but the large worked.
The coat washes up well and the addition of a pocket on the dog's back is cute, but also practical in providing a place to stash pickup bags.

Originally ordered a small for my Chihuahua mix but coat was really small. Returned it and ordered a medium and it is just right. Very well made. Reorder was fast and easy. Credit for returned item was fast too. Couldn't ask for better service. Peanut says "Thanks!"

i purchased this field coat recently for my blue heeler/american bulldog. she is a pretty classic medium-sized dog in length and girth. i purchased the medium for her, but had to return it due to short length and small chest strap. i was saddened when i realized that she was right between sizes, and that i wouldn't be able to outfit her for our winter adventures with this beautiful field coat.
i would advise measuring your dog before purchasing this awesome item to make sure the fit is appropriate.

Kush the chahuahua loves his new winter coat. It is so warm and cozy, and his movement is not restricted when wearing it, although if the collar is flipped forward it can be slightly confining. His owner likes the ease with which it goes on and expects it will have many years of wear.

YesPlease Easy to put on, comfortable for pup.
This coat feels sturdy and the flannel lining is soft and warm. It seems to be my pup's favorite jacket. The velcro straps make it easy to put on. It doesn't cover her stomach, but keeps her warm enough. Plus, it looks adorable! I have a lean beagle mix and probably could have sized up to a large. She is wearing a medium in the picture.

TravelingCraneMan Cookie's Field Coat
Cookie loves her new Field Coat as well as us. Very well made just like the human's version. We ordered the small first and it ran on the smaller size. The medium fits our Jack Russell Terrier perfectly. She weighs 14 lbs.. It is so easy to put on with no threading her head or legs through.

My puppy pit would have to hurry and do her business or be physically led into the yard to do her business. I also found it tough to get her started on our morning and evening walks. She was always shivering. My mini Golden loves to play outside in the cold because he has a natural fur coat. I didn't buy him a coat. I've only had this beauty one day and it is perfect! It is super easy for me to put it on her with the long velcros and it doesn't seem to bother her now that she feels it's warmth. She tusseled with it a minute and I had to correct the Golden twice to keep his teeth off it. It's the best, most reasonably priced choice for me and I did alot of research. She is 25 lbs; 16" long and has a typical thick pit bull neck, which doesn't matter much considering the length of the velcro straps. I ordered the medium. It is a little big for her, but I just tightened the front and torso velcro straps to make it fit perfectly. I feel comfortable knowing she has plenty of room to grow in it. It doesn't get in the way of her relieving herself and I am watching the dogs westling, rolling, tumbling and running around the back yard and the coat is still securely attached. She is in training to be a service dog and this coat is easier to don than the service vest and that is important for me because my disability only allows me use of one hand. I am in San Antonio Texas and our winters are mild - 34 degrees this morning and will be 48 at our high today. I would recommend this coat for anyone with pets or service dogs, who are active and like to get out the house regardless of the weather. I haven't checked it in the rain, but the water beads off when I purposefully poured it on. It is lightweight and not not flimsy at all. It is very warm and soft against my skin.
