We bought the first of these coats about two years ago. We had tried to find coats elsewhere but they were not made very well. We sent them all back. Then I decided to check here and well at first I thought the coat was expensive. By now I was ready to give it a try and since I knew anything bought here is of superior quality. Well let me tell you I was not disappointed at all . These coats are a great value. They are well made. Ours has been washed 3-4 times by now and looks just the same and has not shrunk. They wear like steel. They are easy to adjust and get on and off. We just got another dog and I was told to get another coat just like Ziggy's. So number two field coat just arrived. If this review does not get you to buy one don't know what will. A repeat order of the same coat should tell you we love this coat and highly recommend it. It may very well be the last coat your dog needs. Keith

Excellent coats - having 2 labs, and a golden ret., they all look so good together outside. Very functionable, easy on and off, very durable as well. They clean up nicely too. We have had a snowy winter here in Michigan. 3ft of snow still sitting in the front yardand cold. Our buds need play time year round and these coats do the trick. I think the next purchase will be booties for the pack.
I think the only suggestion I would make would be to monogram the names under the pocket, not above it at the neck. It would show up better. Great coat.

by Ally120 Great Durable Warm Jacket
I love this jacket!! I bought this item earlier this winter for my hound dog who is at the barn working with me 12 hours a day. He has a whole pack of dog friends at the barn that he plays with, so with the hard playing with his friends and running around at the barn - this jacket is so durable. I have even washed it a few times and it holds up great! I was initially worried about how long the velcro would last instead of the jacket having a buckle, but I love the velcro and have had no issues with it. It keeps my dog WARM, even with the snow and rain. It is a thicker jacket so even if my dog is out in the precipitation, he is always dry under the jacket. Love this item.

by AnnetteM The BEST Dog Coat Ever! Size Chart Works!
Hands down the best dog coat I have encountered. My little guy has more than a few, costing upwards of $100, and this is the best of them all. It's the only coat he will wear without a growl. Built just like the human version Field Coat. Super thick and insulated. Flannel lined with rugged canvas shell.
My 6 month old Yorkshire Terrier wears a size small and the fit is spot on. Since his build is slim in the torso, chest, and neck it works. He's 12" in length with a 15" girth, so the LL Bean size chart was on the mark. I hesitated the purchase, after reading other reviews about the sizing being off, but after purchase found the size chart a perfect guide.

Bought a small for my 15 lb Yorkie and had to exchange it for a medium as it does run a little small. Looks so nice and fits him well. It is made very well although the only problem I have is my dog wears a harness and there's no opening on the back for the hook to come through to hook to his leash. Other then that , we love it !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BunERock Warm, rugged, stylish coat
Had earlier review - loved the coat but small was too small. Got the right size for my dog - medium for a Lhasa Apso (14 lbs.). It is a classic coat. Very thick but flexible. Has a long strap to adjust around body. Would be nice to have this coat in other colors matching the adult field coats. My Lhasa wore it today - a cold, snowy day - and she looked very exquisite and outdoorsy and cozy!

Rated 3 out of 5 Good quality, inadequate fit
I was really looking forward to getting this coat in the mail for my Boston Terrier. I have to give LL Bean credit for extremely fast shipping and a well-made item. Unfortunately, the coat did not fit my BT's unique shape. We nailed the chest + length measurements, but the coat was too small for his neck; the next size up might've fit his neck but would have been far too long. LL Bean would do many dog owners a service by included the neck measurements for all the sizes of the dog coat. In my seemingly endless quest for a good coat for my dog, I've learned that girth + length alone do not guarantee a good fit. I would recommend this jacket to a friend with this in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KatarooKangaroo Perfect coat for our frenchie
I bought this for our French Bulldog last winter. We live in Colorado, and sometimes it is just too cold for Oliver to be outside naked. This coat is perfect - it is well-made, heavy, and durable. He likes to scratch on the side of brick buildings and tore up too many coats/sweaters to count before we got this. The medium fits him perfectly, though he is on the smaller side of the breed. As soon as mediums are back in stock, I'm going to order another for our new baby, a pug-boston terrier mix; all the coats/sweaters I buy for her just pale in comparison to this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BunERock Exquisite little coat....
but small is too small for a Lhasa Apso. Love this and so upset medium is sold out. It is well made, seems to be warm, and looks great. The canvas is kind of weathered in appearance. I wish it were on back order for a larger size. The olive color is nice too - looks great with dog's white hair. Will be waiting patiently for replenishment of stock. : (

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandchatine Amazing Little Coat
This dog coat is easily as comfortable and well made as any for a child. I was amazed at how thick and plush it was, and the workmanship is quality. While I don't have to face extreme cold out here in CA, it is certainly much more padded than those sold locally in pet stores. The monogramming really sets it off.
