Rated 4 out of 5áby Goldenhoney Great bed, easy to chew
I ordered the large bed for my 65lb, year old golden retriever and she loves the bed! Overall its a great size for her to stretch out on or curl up and its not to big for my apartment. Its been easy to wash and still looks great. The BIG downside to these covers is it is easy to chew for her. She has ripped open 2 already at the zipper and on the exposed seems. I can no longer leave her alone with the bed, afraid we will have to return a 3rd bed. I still give 4 stars because of the exchange policy and I have been able to replace the ripped beds.

We have a Mastiff and finding a bed she is comfortable in is a challenge. This one is the closest to fitting the bill as of yet. She has plenty of cushion to protect her elbows but it had taken a while to get her to lay on the cover. It is coarse and needs a lot of wear to be comfortable.

This is our third LLBEAN dog bed. Our dog LOVES the beds....so now we have 3....all spread around the house in his favorite spots. They wash and wear so well. We have an 86 pound yellow lab and he gives the beds 5 stars!!....so do we!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby SammiJo Perfect for our 2 Goldens
I bought this dog bed in 2000 when we got our first Golden...4 years later and it's still in perfect shape and fits our 75 pound Golden and the newest member of our family, our 20 pound Golden puppy. It looks like it should be large enough to fit both - even when our pup is full grown. I've removed the cover several times to wash it and it holds up well. It's a workout to get the cover back on - but, it's a great bed and has held up wonderfully for 4 years...and has many more years left in it! I highly recommend it!

Our dogs finally wore out their 10-year-old LL Bean dog bed, so we purchased this one as a replacement. I can attest to its comfort, as I often curl up with the dogs on this bed in front of the fire. And the dogs obviously love it, since one (or two) of the three of them is always sleeping on it. Expensive, but the comfort and durability are worth the price.

áby swiffer109 Too Big
Purchased for my 100# Mastiff with bad joints, & 60# Pit Bull to share. They like it well enough but it is enormous and doesn't fit anywhere in the house and ends up being stored too often for the price. Go with one or two sizes smaller. Waterproof cover would be very helpful, I put a waterproof bed pad between mattress and cover. It is also pretty firm and my dogs like it better with a pillow and/or blanket on top to snuggle on. For the price, and how huge it is that is doesn't get used as much as it should, I've nearly returned it several times.

I bought the therapeutic bed for my GSD who is now 7 when she was 5 and about ready to have surgery that would not allow her to get up and down on my bed like she had since she was a puppy. Well, she had the surgery 2 years ago and she never really want back to sleeping in people beds. She loves her bed from L.L.Bean!! She runs about 78 lbs. and the Large is the perfect size for her.

I wanted to replace my Labrador's 7 year old LL Bean bed, since it is getting a little smelly and starting to wear a bit. Overall the old bed is in excellent condition.
Be warned, the new therapeutic bed is made of a much firmer memory foam. My pup has bad hips and seemed a little uncomfortable even standing on the new bed. Even after trying to trick her by covering it with her old sheet, she was not convinced.
The final straw was when she made a point of moving to her old bed in the middle of the night. Luckily, LL Bean has an excellent return policy. I wish they would bring back the earlier version as I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5áby heatherbetsy Finally, a GREAT dog bed
This just arrived today. It hasn't even finished puffing back out after having been folded and compressed for shipping, but clearly Flora loves it. She's fourteen and a half, and has had ACL surgery, so she's pretty sore but still quite active. This is the FIRST dog bed we have ever purchased that seems to have good foam that is as firm as it should be. And the cover material will certainly not be worn through by "nesting" activities. We'll see what the next few days bring, but I am highly impressed so far. I feel bad for having waited so long to get one of these for her. Thank you!!!

áby MassToAlaska It can take a wrestler up the the challenge
I purchased this bed in Kahki, size Large in late November, 2013.
I bought this bed for my growing puppy dog. (He is six months old and roughly 60 lbs in these photos), to give you an idea. Today, my dog is now around 80 lbs and the large bed is still the perfect size for him to stretch out on.
My dog is still an energetic puppy, and still a little destructive. When he has to wait to go to the park he loves to throw tantrums and take his bed in and out of rooms, up and down the stairs, and wrestle it. (We're working on that). Other beds we have had have been trashed in three months. He also prefers to sleep by the entry way at night and guard the door, so the cover has seen quite a bit of mud this spring.
The cover vacuums off so easily to remove hair and dirt. It can be washed and is very durable if it must be washed on "heavy duty". It can be difficult to put back on, but has a very snug fit so that the foam insert stays in place. Even though Miles wrestles his bed, the seams have barely torn on one of the corners and it could be easily fixed at home. The foam insert has seen some chipping yet the cover remains unscathed. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and he seems to love stretching his belly out or chewing rawhides on this bed. Hopefully he'll treat his bed nicer when he's older and I believe it should last him through his learning years.
