i have A LOT to carry to and from work and got this bag hoping to fit everything into it and make my life easier. weighed it at the doctor and it was approximately 20 lbs. it holds a change of clothes, windbreaker, sun shirt & hat, my gym clothes, my guide dogs accessories (boots, water bowl, tennis ball, etc.), my lunchbag, medical/medicinal stuff, small first aid kit, & purse "essentials", kindle, etc.. there is still room in this back for more!.
i imagine it wasn't meant as a high maintainence commuter's day bag, so it's not "perfect" but it's darn close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mjoshi Best Carryon for International Travel.
I've done couple of international trips with this backpack and it is ideal carryon for international trips as most airlines don't allow more than 15lbs as carry-on. And this being super lightweight makes it ideal.

I gave my son this travel bag for a Christmas present and he loves it! He travels a great deal, so he will find it very helpful to have such a light weight bag with so many handy compartments!

Rated 5 out of 5 Nice looking, surprisingly capacious
Rolling luggage is annoying--this bag frees my hands. It holds a surprising amount. Three changes of clothing, pajamas and robe, slippers, and a bag of gifts and it still isn't full. It would probably be large enough for a week-long trip. I use packing cubes to keep things organized but there are also lots of pockets including a large mesh one convenient for laundry, and quite a few straps to hold it all in place. I'm not generally a fan of red, but this color is a bit muted, more tomato than fire engine--very nice, and distinctive among all the lookalike black bags should I ever need to check it. All in all, I couldn't be happier.

I ordered this particular travel pack hoping that it was going to give me more than the knapsacks I already have at home. When it arrived, I was extremely disappointed. It was not the exceptional bag that it appeared to be in the info online. I was very disappointed and returned it asking that they not charge me to return it. Why am I required to pay for an item that was misrepresented?

Rated 5 out of 5 by lisac1962 great travel pack
Have been using this pack since 2007 trip to Europe. It's perfect for all the different forms of public transport over there. Most recent trip involved Heathrow arrival>tube to hotel>tube to St Pancras>Eurostar to Paris>metro to hotel>metro to CDG airport. This happened over the course of 10 days so lots of packing/unpacking. To negate the shifting of clothing in backpack, it's worth purchasing a few packing cubes which kept the shifting to a minimum and more importantly-our clothing was minimally wrinkled as well. I kinda chuckled when I saw others moving around with both carryon sized luggage and full sized pieces. Try getting full sized luggage on the tube during morning commute! No thank you!. My only negative is that the straps for the backpack are very long and I haven't quite figured out what to do with them. After much travel, the bag still looks great. My husband is a recent convert to this kind of travel bag and his experience was the same-relieved not to be moving around with too much baggage. Thanks LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CommonProse Perfect for road trips!
Have been searching for a bag that works well on road trips: soft sided, no hard frame, no wheels, etc. This is perfect. It is lightweight, but capacious, has useful side pockets, and can be carried by handles, shoulder strap, or as backpack. First used it on a 5-day trip to the Grand Canyon North Rim to work with the vegetation crew on a restoration project. Was able to pack rain gear, various layers, toiletries, and all. It is destined to get a *lot* of use as we travel by car around the Southwest!

Rated 5 out of 5 by silvercrest I wouldn't travel without this bag...
I've taken this bag on all of my trips to Europe....while others are pulling their bags along I am walking HANDS FREE. No need to check this bag ... it is small enough to fit into overhead and big enough to hold 3 weeks of clothes.
There is no shortage of pockets, nets, and separate compartments to hold items.
Money WELL spent...

Rated 2 out of 5 by MBTheTraveller Climb Do Not Walk
I used the Quickload Travel Pack for my three-week trip to Japan. The pack had some very positive features: big enough for all my stuff and the stuff I bought in Japan; small enough to make me think before I packed and before I bought. The pack fits well into the smallest (and cheapest) coin lockers. It made going up and down stairs, which every railway station has a lot of, very comfortable compared to having a roller bag. It also has some negative features: the contents settle while I walk, which shuffles my packing into a mess; the straps work fine for a short walk but their placement makes walking a mile disagreeable, and I walked several miles in various airports. The trouble is that the load is always too low on my back. Also the lumpy pack makes it impossible to enter a Japanese shop without being the bull in the china shop. On balance though I would say that for me the disagreeable long treks overweigh the agreeable stair case climbing.

I own this travel bag for myself and love it. I have never not been able to use it as a carryon. The best part os that it is soft and pushes down to always fit. I have used it from weekend trips to two weeks trips across the world. It has never failed me. I recently took it to a week long trip to Vegas where my non-traveling sister fell in love with it. We just got her one for her birthday. She said it makes her want to go places. The only down side is that this bag cannot be monogrammed :( That would be a great addition. Love this bag and LL Bean.
